There are few watches in Rolex’s Professional collection that divide opinion quite like the Yacht-Master II. Introduced in 2007 as one of the world’s few purpose-built mechanical regatta chronographs, it stood apart with its programmable countdown timer and unmistakable blue Cerachrom bezel. While admired for its technical ingenuity, its bold styling was never universally embraced.
For 2026, Rolex has taken a fresh approach.
Rather than simply updating the outgoing model, the brand has comprehensively re-engineered the Yacht-Master II, refining its appearance, simplifying its operation and introducing a new movement designed specifically for competitive sailing. The result is a watch that remains unmistakably a Yacht-Master II while becoming significantly more intuitive and contemporary.
A Cleaner Look Without Losing Its Identity
The most noticeable transformation is the dial.
Rolex has removed much of the visual complexity that characterised the previous generation. The countdown scale has been relocated from the bezel to a precisely positioned flange surrounding the dial, creating a more balanced and easier-to-read display.
The dial itself now features a matte white lacquer finish that reduces reflections, while the Professional collection’s applied hour markers further improve readability in varying lighting conditions.
The familiar blue Cerachrom bezel remains, but its role has changed. Instead of carrying the countdown scale, it now functions as a traditional 60-minute graduated bezel, giving the watch a cleaner and more purposeful appearance.
Designed Around the Regatta Start
The Yacht-Master II has always been different from conventional chronographs.
Instead of measuring elapsed time after an event begins, it helps sailors prepare for one of the most crucial moments in competitive yacht racing: the starting sequence.
The new generation retains Rolex’s programmable countdown with mechanical memory and “on-the-fly” synchronization, allowing sailors to adjust the countdown during a race without interrupting its operation.
For 2026, Rolex has also simplified the user experience. The countdown is now programmed and controlled exclusively through the two side pushers, eliminating the Ring Command bezel interaction used on the previous generation and making operation more straightforward under race conditions.
New Calibre 4162 Powers the Next Generation
At the heart of the watch is the entirely new Rolex Calibre 4162, developed exclusively for the Yacht-Master II.
Building on the previous Calibre 4161, the new movement introduces a completely re-engineered countdown mechanism while incorporating several of Rolex’s latest movement technologies.
Among the upgrades are:
Chronergy escapement for improved energy efficiency
Rolex Côtes de Genève bridge finishing
Skeletonised oscillating weight
Enhanced reliability and precision
Self-winding mechanical architecture developed entirely in-house
Like every current Rolex, the movement meets the strengthened Superlative Chronometer standards introduced in 2026, ensuring exceptional precision and performance after casing.

EyesOnTime’s Perspective
The Yacht-Master II has always been one of Rolex’s most technically fascinating creations, but also one of its most polarising.
With the 2026 generation, Rolex appears to have listened carefully to years of collector feedback. The watch is noticeably cleaner, more legible and easier to operate, while preserving the unique regatta functionality that has always set it apart.
Rather than reinventing the concept, Rolex has refined it where it matters most. The redesigned countdown interface, the introduction of Calibre 4162 and the simplified aesthetics collectively make the Yacht-Master II feel more mature and purpose-driven than its predecessor.
Whether this translates into broader appeal among collectors remains to be seen, but from a technical and design standpoint, the new Yacht-Master II represents one of the brand’s most thoughtful evolutions in recent years.

Which materials are available?
The new Yacht-Master II is available in Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold.
Rolex doesn’t usually play with colour like this. And when it does, it’s never casual.
The new Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 looks playful at first glance—but give it a moment, and it settles into something far more familiar.
This is still Rolex. Just… confidently more vibrant.
The POV
There’s a fine line between expressive and excessive. Most brands either cross it—or avoid it entirely.
Rolex walks it.
A multicolour dial. Repeated lettering. A motif that immediately draws the eye. On paper, this should feel like too much.
It doesn’t.
Because nothing here is random. The colours are measured. The layout is controlled. Even the repetition of the Rolex name feels structured rather than loud.
This isn’t Rolex chasing attention. It’s Rolex exploring just how far it can go—without losing its identity.
What’s New
Multicolour lacquer dial with a revisited Jubilee motif
Rolex lettering repeated across the dial as part of the design
A colour palette that feels refined rather than loud
Classic 36mm Oyster case retained
Automatic movement with Superlative Chronometer certification
Oyster bracelet with Oysterclasp
No reinvention of the watch itself—just a shift in how it expresses itself.
Technical Breakdown
Movement (Under the Hood)
Inside, nothing flashy—just one of Rolex’s most reliable engines.
Calibre 3230 (in-house automatic movement)
Approx. 70-hour power reserve
Chronergy escapement for efficiency
Parachrom hairspring for shock and temperature resistance
In real terms: You can take it off for a couple of days, put it back on, and it just keeps going.
Case & Build
This is where Rolex stays uncompromising.
36mm Oyster case
Oystersteel (904L corrosion-resistant steel)
Screw-down crown with Twinlock system
Monobloc middle case construction
Water resistance: 100 metres
This is still a daily watch at heart—built to handle life, not just sit in a box.
Dial Construction (Where It Gets Interesting)
What looks playful is actually highly controlled.
Multiple layers of lacquer (built up gradually)
Controlled environment during production
Finished with varnish and polishing for depth
That colour isn’t applied—it’s built. Slowly, layer by layer.
Bracelet & Wearability
Oyster bracelet (three-piece solid links)
Oysterclasp with Easylink extension (5mm comfort adjustment)
Small detail, big impact—this is what makes it easy to wear every day.
Legibility & Everyday Use
Chromalight display (long-lasting blue lume)
Clean, highly legible dial layout
Even with all the colour, it still reads like a proper tool watch.
Certification
Superlative Chronometer certification
Precision: -2/+2 seconds per day
Rolex doesn’t just test the movement—it tests the finished watch.
Design Breakdown: Why This Works
1. The Colours They’re not aggressive. They’re controlled, slightly softened, and intentionally balanced.
2. The Jubilee Motif Less decoration, more structure. It gives the dial rhythm without overwhelming it.
3. The Rolex Lettering This could have been too much. Instead, it becomes texture—part of the design rather than branding.
Why It Matters
Most watches try to stand out. Rolex doesn’t need to.
So when it chooses to do something visually different, it’s worth paying attention.
This watch shows that Rolex can experiment—without ever looking like it’s trying too hard.
And that’s rare.
Who It’s For
Someone who already owns a classic Rolex
Someone ready for a bit of personality—but not chaos
Someone who values detail over obvious statements
This isn’t a first Rolex. It’s a considered one.
EyesOnTime Verdict
This was a bold move—and it pays off.
What could have felt bright, busy, or overdone… doesn’t.
Instead, it comes together as something balanced, controlled, and entirely intentional.
This isn’t Rolex changing direction. It’s Rolex stretching—just enough to remind you how good it is at staying itself.
Rolex has chosen to introduce its very first ceramic dial on an 18 ct white gold version of the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II. In the same material, with the same green colour and the same lustre, this Cerachrom dial and the daytime half of the green and black bezel insert echo each other perfectly.
Rolex is introducing its first-ever dial made of high-technology ceramic. This inaugural green Cerachrom component makes its debut on an Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II with winding crown on the left side of the case and date aperture at 9 o’clock, a version which additionally, this year, is presented in 18 ct white gold.
The new Cerachrom dial – created in the same way as dials in natural stone, by fitting a disc of material onto a brass plate – displays the same shade of green as the lower half of the two-colour green and black Cerachrom bezel insert that frames the watch face. This perfect tonal harmony, which remains true under all lighting conditions, is achieved by using the same type of ceramic to produce both elements.
This new version of the GMT-Master II is mounted on an Oyster bracelet equipped with an Oysterlock safety clasp.
The GMT-Master II is driven by calibre 3285, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology, enabling it to display the date and an additional time zone in 24-hour format, as well as the hours, minutes and seconds.
Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II carries the Superlative Chronometer certification, which ensures excellent performance on the wrist.
ONE INSTRUMENT, SEVERAL TIME ZONES
Designed as a navigation aid for professionals criss-crossing the globe, the GMT-Master became the watch of choice for travellers. It has a unique and instantly recognizable design with a bidirectional rotatable bezel and a 24-hour graduated insert, which has been made available in single-colour versions as well as in various dual-colour combinations – the lower half symbolizing daytime hours and the upper signalling night-time hours. The GMT-Master, a true ‘tool watch’, has evolved continually to offer increasing technical performance. In 1982, Rolex unveiled the GMT-Master II, with a movement allowing the hour hand to be set independently of the other hands.
With traditional hour, minute and seconds hands, a triangle-tipped 24-hour hand, and a bidirectional rotatable bezel with 24-hour graduated Cerachrom insert, the GMT-Master II can display the time in two time zones simultaneously: either the local time and a reference time, or the local time and that of an alternative time zone. The date is synchronized with the local time.
HIGH-TECHNOLOGY CERAMIC
Rolex played a pioneering role in the development of special ceramics to create particular elements of its watch cases – notably monobloc bezels and monobloc bezel inserts. Not only are these materials particularly scratch resistant, their colours are also of a rare intensity and are resistant to environmental effects. In addition, thanks to their chemical composition, the high-tech ceramics are inert and cannot corrode. The brand has developed exclusive expertise and innovative manufacturing methods that grant it complete independence in the production of these ceramic components.
On the new version of the GMT-Master II, the bidirectional rotatable bezel is fitted with a two-colour, 24-hour graduated Cerachrom insert in green and black ceramic. The moulded, recessed graduations and numerals are coated with platinum via PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition). The bezel’s knurled edge offers excellent grip and can be manipulated with ease.
THE OYSTER CASE, SYMBOL OF WATERPROOFNESS
A paragon of robustness and reliability, the 40 mm Oyster case of the GMT-Master II is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet). The middle case of the version presented is crafted from a solid block of 18 ct white gold. Its case back, edged with fine fluting, is hermetically screwed down with a special tool employed by approved watchmakers. The Triplock winding crown, fitted with a triple waterproofness system and protected by an integral crown guard, screws down securely against the case. The crystal, which features a Cyclops lens for easy reading of the date, is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire and benefits from an anti-reflective coating. The waterproof Oyster case provides optimal protection for the movement it houses.
CALIBRE 3285
The GMT-Master II is powered by calibre 3285, a movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex that was released in 2018 and introduced on the model the same year. A distillation of technology, this self-winding mechanical movement delivers outstanding performance, particularly in terms of precision, power reserve, convenience and reliability.
Calibre 3285 incorporates the patented Chronergy escapement, which combines high energy efficiency with great dependability. Made of nickel-phosphorous, this escapement is resistant to strong magnetic fields. The movement is fitted with a blue Parachrom hairspring, manufactured by Rolex in a paramagnetic alloy. The hairspring offers great stability in the face of temperature variations as well as high resistance to shocks. It is equipped with a Rolex overcoil, ensuring the calibre’s regularity in any position. The oscillator is mounted on the Rolex-designed, patented high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, further enhancing the movement’s shock resistance.
Calibre 3285 is equipped with a self-winding system via a Perpetual rotor. Thanks to its barrel architecture and the escapement’s superior efficiency, the power reserve of this movement extends to approximately 70 hours.
OYSTER BRACELET AND OYSTERLOCK SAFETY CLASP
The GMT-Master II in 18 ct white gold with a green Cerachrom dial matched with the green and black Cerachrom bezel insert is fitted on an Oyster bracelet. Developed in the late 1930s, this three-piece link metal bracelet is known for its robustness.
The Oyster bracelet of the GMT-Master II is furnished with the Oysterlock folding safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening. It also includes the Easylink comfort extension link, developed by Rolex, that allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm. On the version presented, it includes patented ceramic inserts – designed by the brand – inside the links to enhance its flexibility on the wrist and its longevity.
SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER CERTIFICATION
Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015. This designation testifies that every watch leaving the brand’s workshops has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, following the official certification of the movements by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). These in-house certification tests apply to the fully assembled watch, after casing the movement, guaranteeing superlative performance on the wrist in terms of precision, power reserve, waterproofness and self-winding. The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer is of the order of −2 /+2 seconds per day – the rate deviation tolerated by the brand for a finished watch is significantly smaller than that accepted by COSC for official certification of the movement alone.
The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that comes with every Rolex watch and is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.
At first glance, the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 glows with an almost hypnotic allure. The dial—a gradient of deep red fading to black—captures the very essence of twilight. Rolex describes it as a “communion of light and shade”, a poetic phrase that beautifully encapsulates both the spirit of the design and the mastery of its creation.
In a landscape where luxury watches often rely on restraint, this red ombré dial stands apart as a daring statement. Inspired by the fleeting warmth of sunset, it is a study in contrast—fire meeting shadow, brilliance meeting depth.
The Datejust Legacy: A Timeless Classic
Few watches embody enduring elegance quite like the Rolex Datejust. Since its introduction in 1945, the Datejust has remained an archetype of classic watchmaking—combining practicality with poise. It was the first automatic, waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date at 3 o’clock, revolutionizing wristwatch functionality.
Eighty years later, its appeal remains undimmed. Every new iteration is a dialogue between Rolex’s storied past and its forward-looking innovation. The 2025 red ombré model continues this legacy, adding a bold splash of color to an icon known for quiet confidence.
A Fiery First: The Red Ombré Dial
This is the first time Rolex has rendered the ombré dial in such a vivid, fiery tone. Originally introduced in 2019 and reserved for the Day-Date, the ombré design uses PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) to create its distinctive gradient — a subtle yet striking play of color that intensifies toward the outer rim.
The red ombré dial on this Datejust 31 feels like molten gold meeting shadow — expressive yet elegantly restrained. Surrounding the dial are 46 brilliant-cut diamonds, framing the color like sparks at the edge of a flame. Ten more diamonds serve as hour markers, each set in 18 ct yellow gold, offering a luxurious rhythm of sparkle and hue.
The Oyster Case: Symbol of Strength and Elegance
The 31 mm Oyster case, crafted from a solid block of 18 ct yellow gold, reflects Rolex’s unmatched craftsmanship. Its proportions balance grace and durability—refined yet robust. The Twinlock winding crown ensures waterproofness up to 100 metres (330 feet), while the sapphire crystal with its Cyclops lens guarantees clarity and scratch resistance.
Every curve, polish, and surface of the case has been refined to capture light in motion. This is not merely a protective shell—it’s a statement of permanence.
Inside the Movement: Calibre 2236
At the heart of this watch beats the Rolex Calibre 2236, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Introduced in 2014, and fitted to this model since 2018, it remains one of the brand’s most advanced calibres for smaller timepieces.
Equipped with the Syloxi hairspring in silicon and the paramagnetic nickel-phosphorus escape wheel, the Calibre 2236 ensures resistance to shocks, temperature variations, and magnetic fields. Rolex’s patented Paraflex shock absorbers and Perpetual rotor guarantee optimal performance with a power reserve of approximately 55 hours.
In typical Rolex fashion, the technical brilliance remains discreet—hidden beneath a case back that needs no exhibition window to prove its worth.
The President Bracelet: Prestige Refined
Created in 1956 for the launch of the Day-Date, the President bracelet remains one of Rolex’s most recognizable and prestigious designs. Reserved exclusively for precious metal versions of the Datejust and Day-Date, it blends seamless comfort with iconic aesthetics.
The three-piece solid links, crafted in 18 ct yellow gold, feature polished center links and satin-finished outer links—a tactile reminder of Rolex’s dual mastery of craft and ergonomics. Inside, patented ceramic inserts enhance flexibility and longevity. The concealed Crownclasp ensures a flawless visual continuity.
The Superlative Standard
Every Rolex watch undergoes stringent in-house testing under the Superlative Chronometer certification, redefined by Rolex in 2015. This guarantees exceptional precision (−2/+2 seconds per day), waterproofness, and durability.
The hallmark green seal accompanying each watch is not merely symbolic—it represents Rolex’s five-year international guarantee and its pursuit of horological excellence.
Why It Matters: The New Expression of the Classic
The Datejust 31 red ombré isn’t just a new dial variation—it’s a confident evolution of a timeless silhouette. It brings emotion to engineering, warmth to precision, and a renewed sense of individuality to a collection that has long stood for universal elegance.
It’s a reminder that even within the disciplined world of Rolex, art and feeling still have their place.

In a world of fleeting trends, Rolex once again proves that true innovation lies not in change, but in evolution.
Three models in bold configurations. Original combinations of colours and materials elicit new emotions. The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, GMT-Master II and Sky-Dweller are unveiled with new dials that magnify their aura.
Rolex unveiled flamboyant new faces on three of its iconic models renowned for their technical sophistication and emblematic design.
Indelibly linked to the world of motor sport and the measurement of elapsed time, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona is arrayed with a resplendent turquoise blue lacquer dial punctuated by bright black counters. Crafted in 18 ct yellow gold, this new watch is crowned with a black Cerachrom bezel showcasing the celebrated tachymetric scale that plays a key role in the model’s identity, and is complemented by an Oysterflex bracelet with Oysterlock safety clasp.
A cosmopolitan watch designed for all those who criss-cross the globe, the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II is offered with a new dial, made from tiger iron. This natural stone, containing a combination of tiger’s eye, red jasper and hematite, has a fascinating hybrid appearance. The watch presented is in 18 ct Everose gold with a brown and black Cerachrom bezel insert. It is fitted on an Oyster bracelet, itself equipped with an Oysterlock safety clasp.
Sophisticated and elegant, the Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller is a constant companion to travellers the world over. This year, an 18 ct yellow gold version dons a sunray finished dial in bright green – an intense hue that marries beautifully with the colour of the watch. An additional touch of refinement is provided by the Jubilee bracelet, also in 18 ct yellow gold and fitted with an Oysterclasp.
Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II and Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller carry the Superlative Chronometer certification, which ensures excellent performance on the wrist.
The Cosmograph Daytona in 18 ct yellow gold with turquoise blue lacquer dial features a monobloc Cerachrom bezel in black ceramic. On the GMT-Master II in 18 ct Everose gold with tiger iron dial, the bidirectional rotatable bezel is fitted with a two-colour, 24-hour graduated Cerachrom insert in brown and black ceramic.
On these two Cerachrom components, the recessed graduations, numerals and inscriptions are moulded and then, via a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) process, coated with a thin layer of metal – yellow gold for the tachymetric scale on the Cerachrom bezel of the Cosmograph Daytona and pink gold for the markings on the Cerachrom bezel insert of the GMT-Master II.
THE FLUTED BEZEL, A SIGNATURE FEATURE
The fluted bezel has been offered on many Classic models in the Oyster Perpetual collection since the invention of the Oyster case in 1926. Its fluting was originally used in screwing down the bezel against the middle case, thereby indirectly playing a part in waterproofness. Today, however, its role is mainly aesthetic, with each perfectly identical groove catching the light and creating myriad subtle reflections. Exclusively made in 18 ct gold or in 950 platinum, the fluted bezel is the result of the brand’s unique expertise and one of the pillars of its stylistic heritage.
The fluted bezel of the Sky-Dweller with bright green dial is fashioned from 18 ct yellow gold – the same material as its Oyster case and Jubilee bracelet.
THE OYSTER CASE, SYMBOL OF WATERPROOFNESS
A paragon of robustness, reliability and elegance, the Oyster case of the Cosmograph Daytona and GMT-Master II – both 40 mm in diameter – as well as that of the Sky-Dweller – 42 mm – is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet). The middle case of the versions presented is crafted from a solid block of 18 ct yellow or Everose gold. Its case back, edged with fine fluting, is hermetically screwed down with a special tool employed by approved watchmakers. Both the Triplock winding crown, fitted with a triple waterproofness system and protected by an integral crown guard, and the Twinlock winding crown, with a double waterproofness system, screw down securely against the case, as do the chronograph pushers on the Cosmograph Daytona. The crystal – featuring a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock for enhanced legibility on models with the date function – is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire and benefits from an anti-reflective coating. The waterproof Oyster case of each of the three watches provides optimal protection for the movement it houses.
CALIBRES 4131, 3285 AND 9002
The Cosmograph Daytona, GMT-Master II and Sky-Dweller are driven by self-winding mechanical movements entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. A distillation of technology, they deliver outstanding performance, particularly in terms of precision, power reserve, convenience and reliability.
The Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with calibre 4131, which enables the watch to measure intervals of time via the chronograph function, in addition to displaying the hours, minutes and seconds. Released in 2023, it was introduced on the model the same year and is exclusive to this watch. Calibre 4131 demonstrates carefully finished aesthetics, including bridges decorated with Rolex Côtes de Genève and a cut-out oscillating weight.
The GMT-Master II has been fitted with calibre 3285 since the movement’s introduction in 2018. It provides the model with the date function and an additional time zone in 24-hour format, as well as the hours, minutes and seconds.
The Sky-Dweller is powered by calibre 9002, furnishing the watch with an annual calendar – date and month – and an additional time zone in 24-hour format, together with the hours, minutes and seconds. Introduced in 2023, calibre 9002 is exclusive to this model.
All three calibres incorporate the patented Chronergy escapement, which combines high energy efficiency with great dependability. Made of nickel-phosphorous, this escapement is resistant to strong magnetic fields. These movements are fitted with a blue Parachrom hairspring, manufactured by Rolex in a paramagnetic alloy. The hairspring offers great stability in the face of temperature variations as well as high resistance to shocks. It is equipped with a Rolex overcoil, ensuring the calibre’s regularity in any position. The oscillator is mounted on the Rolex-designed, patented high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, further enhancing the movements’ shock resistance.
Calibre 4131, calibre 3285 and calibre 9002 are equipped with a self-winding system via a Perpetual rotor. Thanks to their barrel architecture and the superior efficiency of their escapement, the power reserve of these movements extends to approximately 72 hours, 70 hours and 72 hours respectively.
OYSTERFLEX, OYSTER AND JUBILEE BRACELETS
The Cosmograph Daytona with turquoise blue lacquer dial and bright black counters is fitted on an Oysterflex bracelet. Developed by Rolex and patented, this bracelet is made up of two flexible, curved metal blades – one for each of the sections – overmoulded with high-performance black elastomer.
The GMT-Master II with dial in tiger iron is mounted on an Oyster bracelet. Developed in the late 1930s, this three-piece link metal bracelet is known for its robustness.
The Sky-Dweller with bright green dial features a Jubilee bracelet. Supple and comfortable, this five-piece link metal bracelet was specially created for the Oyster Perpetual Datejust, launched in 1945.
The Oysterflex bracelet of the Cosmograph Daytona and the Oyster bracelet of the GMT-Master II are each equipped with the Oysterlock folding safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening, while the Jubilee bracelet of the Sky-Dweller is fitted with a folding Oysterclasp.
The Oysterflex bracelet is furnished with the Rolex Glidelock extension system. Developed by the brand and patented, this inventive mechanism with a rack located under the clasp cover enables fine adjustment of the bracelet length, without the need for tools. The Rolex Glidelock on the Oysterflex has six notches of approximately 2.5 mm, allowing the length of the bracelet to be effortlessly adjusted up to some 15 mm.
The Oyster bracelet of the GMT-Master II and the Jubilee bracelet of the Sky-Dweller feature the Easylink comfort extension link, developed by the brand, which allows them to be easily lengthened by approximately 5 mm. Made of 18 ct Everose gold and 18 ct yellow gold respectively, they include patented ceramic inserts – designed by Rolex – inside the links to enhance their flexibility on the wrist and their longevity.
SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER CERTIFICATION
Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II and Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller are covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015.

The Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea in Oystersteel with a Cerachrom bezel insert in black ceramic and an Oyster bracelet.
D-Blue Dial: Honouring a historic dive
Commemorating James Cameron’s historic solo dive.
From brilliant blue to bottomless black, its two- colour gradient dial celebrates one man’s journey to the deepest place on earth: the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
Ceramic Bezel and Luminescent Display: Legendary divers’ watch
The 60-minute graduated, unidirectional rotatable bezel of the Rolex Deepsea enables divers to precisely and safely monitor their dive and decompression times.
It is equipped with a patented black Cerachrom bezel insert manufactured by Rolex in a virtually scratchproof ceramic whose colour is unaffected by ultraviolet rays. The graduation is coated via PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) with a thin layer of platinum. The dial features large Chromalight hour markers and hands, filled with luminescent material that emits a long-lasting blue glow for excellent legibility in dark conditions.
Oystersteel: Highly resistant to corrosion
Rolex uses Oystersteel for its steel watch cases. Specially developed by the brand, Oystersteel belongs to the 904L steel family, alloys most commonly used in high-technology and in the aerospace and chemical industries, where maximum resistance to corrosion is essential.
Oystersteel is extremely resistant, offers an exceptional finish once polished and maintains its beauty even in the harshest environments.
The Oyster bracelet: Alchemy of form and function
The Oyster bracelet is a perfect alchemy of form and function, aesthetics and technology, designed to be both robust and comfortable.
It is equipped with an Oysterlock clasp, which prevents accidental opening, and an ingenious Glidelock, allowing fine adjustments of the bracelet without using any tools — and allowing it to be worn comfortably over a diving suit.

The collection was selected for the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) alongside international powerhouse brands. This poetic floral creation with its Haute Joaillerie dial, animated by a central flying tourbillon and set with 600 flawless diamonds, is presented this year with a dial handmade in vibrant Fire opal. The moment journalists, retailers and clients of the 38 exhibiting Maisons have been waiting for… Watches and Wonders Geneva will finally open its doors on 30 March 2022, for a week filled with exciting discoveries. A vast digital system has been set up to allow invited guests and the general public to follow online either live or via replay all the action of the Salon, which is already shaping up to be THE watch industry event of the year.
While the press, retailers and guests invited to the Salon can already plan their personalized program on the watchesandwonders.com platform, in Geneva the excitement is reaching a fever pitch. The set-up of the different exhibition areas is already underway to ensure that visitors can be welcomed while respecting health measures. In the surrounding manufactures and ateliers, the watchmakers are putting the final details to the new watches and jewelry collections that will be unveiled by the Maisons on March 30.
For its first physical event under the name Watches and Wonders Geneva – since last year’s event was entirely digital – the Salon will focus on major launches, previews, exceptional pieces and numerous new wonders. Aside from being featured in the Touch & Feel sessions, products will also be at the heart of discussions over many organized events, such as the Morning Show, the panel discussions and the innovative projects unveiled in the LAB.
Broadcast live from the Salon every morning at 8 am CET on the watchesandwonders.com platform and on its YouTube channel, The Morning Show will be presented this year by Olivia Chang, a renowned business journalist. She will host this first morning program with cross conversations between brand leaders and industry experts to follow the news of the Salon and decipher new trends. She will be back again at 7 pm CET on the Late Show, a new rendez-vous that will review the day’s highlights. Also broadcast live and in replay, the program will feature a different guest each day, who will be invited to share his or her favorites from the Salon. The Late Show will also offer a summary of the keynotes from the Maisons held in the Auditorium, along with highlights of the exceptional pieces being unveiled by the 38 exhibiting brands.
A daily 45-minute panel discussion, hosted by watchmaking experts and other influential personalities, will explore the issue of sustainable development in greater depth. This theme, a particularly hot topic at the moment, will be addressed from different angles, such as transparency, responsible sourcing, innovation and the circular economy. Broadcast live from the Salon at 1 pm CET on the watchesandwonders.com platform and on its YouTube channel, the program will also be available in replay.
Located in the center of the Salon, facing the Carré des Horlogers, the LAB has been designed as an ideas laboratory. This space, showcasing nearly 15 projects, will present the technological and digital innovations of the exhibiting Maisons. Highlighting eco- responsible sourcing practices, upcycling, the use of new materials, new energy sources and strategic partnerships with sustainable associations and organizations, the various initiatives will enable visitors to discover all these innovations and gain a better understanding of NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) and the world of metaverse.
Watches and Culture will also curate the ‘Time Design’ exhibition dedicated to the evolution of wristwatch design through the ages. Imagined as a journey through watchmaking creativity and illustrated by more than 100 timepieces presented in showcases designed by students of ECAL (École d’art de Lausanne), the event will also pay tribute to the work of Mr. Gérald Genta. Five pieces produced by students of the HEAD art & design school in Geneva will invite visitors to question the display of time, while an augmented reality experience will immerse the viewer in the history of a few watchmaking icons.
A broadcasting area consisting of two fully equipped studios will be available for the Maisons who wish to stay in touch with those journalists who are unable to travel to Geneva. In addition, booths equipped with a VISIODOME, a system that proved its worth last year as an optimized way of presenting products remotely, will allow the Maisons to share their latest creations with a larger audience.
Everyone is working hard to make this long-awaited edition the greatest watchmaking summit ever held in Geneva! Just 30 days to go before discovering new watches and jewelry releases, previews, major announcements, exceptional pieces and other innovations.
