In a world where luxury watches often compete through complex complications and increasingly elaborate dials, the ELKA x Ace “Essence” MD09 takes the opposite approach. It strips away everything that isn’t essential, proving that true elegance often lies in restraint. Inspired by ELKA Watch Co.’s philosophy of “Form Follows Feeling,” the MD09 is a watch designed to be experienced rather than simply read.
A Collaboration Rooted in Minimalism
Created in collaboration with Ace Jewelers, the Serie D “The 36” Essence is a celebration of pure design. Limited to just 50 pieces worldwide, the watch removes traditional hour markers and numerals, allowing the dial itself to become the focal point. Instead of measuring time with visual precision, the MD09 invites the wearer to appreciate time through emotion and simplicity.
The Beauty of an Uninterrupted Blue Dial
The first thing that captures your attention is the stunning sunray blue dial.
Free from indices and numerals, the uninterrupted surface allows light to move effortlessly across the dial, creating changing shades of deep navy and electric blue depending on the viewing angle. The absence of visual clutter gives the watch a calming, almost meditative presence that is increasingly rare in modern watchmaking.
Designed to Feel Natural
Housed in ELKA’s signature 36mm pebble-shaped case, the MD09 reflects the brand’s focus on comfort and organic design. Its smooth contours recall vintage pocket watches, while the compact proportions make it equally suited to both contemporary and classic wrists.
Completing the design is ELKA’s distinctive Chevé-box sapphire crystal, whose generous curvature evokes the charm of vintage acrylic crystals while delivering the scratch resistance expected from modern sapphire.
Less Design. More Emotion.
The MD09 isn’t about displaying technical complexity. It’s about creating an emotional connection with the wearer.
By removing every unnecessary element, ELKA allows the dial, proportions and light to become the watch’s defining features. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most memorable designs are those confident enough to leave space for simplicity.
EyesOnTime’s Take
The ELKA x Ace “Essence” MD09 Blue Minimalist is a refreshing reminder that minimalism doesn’t have to feel empty. Every design choice has a purpose, from the uninterrupted blue dial to the perfectly balanced 36mm case.
For collectors who appreciate independent watchmaking, understated elegance and thoughtful design, the MD09 offers something increasingly rare in today’s market: a watch that whispers instead of shouting.
With the launch of the Royale Paris Chrono, Pequignet Manufacture opens an important new chapter in its history. Presented as the Maison’s first chronograph, this new creation is the result of several years of development and reflects the brand’s commitment to mechanical innovation, timeless design, and French watchmaking excellence.
Building on the success of its manufacture calibres, Pequignet has developed the Calibre Initial® Chronograph, bringing one of watchmaking’s most celebrated complications into the Royale Paris collection for the very first time.
The result is a chronograph that combines technical sophistication with the refined aesthetics that have become synonymous with modern Pequignet watchmaking.
The First Chronograph in the Royale Paris Collection
The Royale Paris Chrono represents a significant milestone for Pequignet as the first chronograph ever introduced within the Royale Paris collection.
While remaining faithful to the design language of the collection, the watch introduces a new level of functionality through a thoughtfully executed bi-compax chronograph display.
Available with either blue or red chronograph counters on an opaline dial, the Royale Paris Chrono delivers a contemporary interpretation of a classic complication while preserving the elegance expected from the collection.
The dial displays:
Small seconds at 3 o’clock
30-minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock
The layout offers excellent legibility while maintaining visual balance.
Distinctive Royale Paris Design
The Royale Paris Chrono retains the signature features that define the collection.
Its stainless steel case features Pequignet’s distinctive attached lugs, creating a strong architectural identity and a refined presence on the wrist.
A more sculpted profile introduces a concave, gouge-shaped cut-out that extends around the dial, creating visual depth and reinforcing the watch’s contemporary character.
The result is a chronograph that feels elegant rather than overtly sporty, making it suitable for both formal and everyday wear.
The Calibre Initial® Chronograph
Powering the watch is the new Calibre Initial® Chronograph, the fifth movement developed by Pequignet Manufacture.
The movement is based on the Calibre Initial® architecture and incorporates a newly developed chronograph mechanism. To bring this complication to life, Pequignet collaborated with a renowned Swiss specialist in high-end watch complications.
This partnership combines French movement development and manufacturing expertise with specialist chronograph know-how, resulting in a movement that reflects the strengths of both traditions.
The Calibre Initial® Chronograph represents an important evolution of Pequignet’s manufacture capabilities and demonstrates the brand’s continued investment in movement development.
A Robust Cam-Operated Chronograph
Rather than using a column-wheel architecture, the Royale Paris Chrono employs a cam-operated chronograph system.
This design delivers crisp and reliable operation while offering excellent resistance to shocks and everyday use. The architecture aligns with the watch’s practical philosophy, prioritising durability and dependable performance.
Another notable technical feature is the offset stem system, which allows the crown and chronograph pushers to align harmoniously along the side of the case, contributing to the watch’s balanced appearance.
French Manufacturing Excellence
True to Pequignet’s manufacturing philosophy, the components used in the Royale Paris Chrono are sourced locally.
As with the Maison’s other manufacture movements, components are sourced within an 80-kilometre radius of the manufacture in Morteau, France. This localised approach reflects Pequignet’s commitment to preserving regional expertise and maintaining close relationships with specialist suppliers.
The Royale Paris Chrono therefore represents not only a technical achievement but also a celebration of contemporary French watchmaking.
Why the Royale Paris Chrono Matters
The luxury chronograph category is dominated by established Swiss names, making the Royale Paris Chrono particularly noteworthy.
It offers collectors:
The first chronograph in the Royale Paris collection
The fifth manufacture movement developed by Pequignet
Distinctive French design language
A locally sourced manufacturing approach
A sophisticated blend of French and Swiss watchmaking expertise
A refined alternative to traditional sports chronographs
For enthusiasts seeking something beyond the mainstream, the Royale Paris Chrono presents a compelling proposition.
Final Thoughts
The Pequignet Royale Paris Chrono is far more than a new model within the collection. It marks the arrival of the Manufacture’s first chronograph and demonstrates the brand’s ability to tackle one of watchmaking’s most iconic complications while remaining true to its French identity.
With its elegant architecture, refined dial execution and new Calibre Initial® Chronograph movement, the Royale Paris Chrono stands as one of the most significant releases in Pequignet’s modern history.
For collectors who appreciate independent watchmaking, technical development and distinctive design, the Royale Paris Chrono is a chronograph well worth discovering.
H. Moser & Cie. Introduces the Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Ceramic
For the first time in its history, H. Moser & Cie. is venturing into the world of ceramics, opting for this technically demanding material to enhance the flowing lines of its most iconic collection: Streamliner. The cushion case and integrated bracelet are crafted from anthracite grey ceramic with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces. With neither indices nor logo, the Red fumé Grand Feu enamel dial illuminates this crisp architecture, while the flying tourbillon with double hairspring injects dynamism. With the Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Ceramic model, the Schaffhausen-based Manufacture underscores its commitment to watchmaking that is forward-looking, precise, masterful and resolutely timeless.
Ceramic: a decisive, self-evident choice. The Streamliner collection marks H. Moser & Cie.’s entry into this new territory. With its cushion case and integrated bracelet made entirely from anthracite grey ceramic, the Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Ceramics boldly asserts its personality and character. The material naturally embraces the organic lines of the collection, cultivating the aesthetic without constraining it. The surfaces play with the effects of light in a masterful choreography. Vertical satin finishing on the bracelet, subtle polishing on the edges, circular satin finishing on the case: the characteristic finishes of the Streamliner find in ceramics a demanding medium for expression. They are hand-applied to reveal the depth of the material, its density and colour. An intense, absorbing dark anthracite grey.
Unalterable, lightweight and hypoallergenic, ceramic offers unexpected comfort and a durability suited to everyday use. Pleasant to the touch and almost warm for a mineral material, its most distinctive feature is its absolute stability. Unaffected by time, it is synonymous with mastery and precision. A material defined by its future-oriented expression.
At the heart of this restrained anthracite grey lies a striking contrast: a Red fumé dial of a rare chromatic depth. True to its unique approach, H. Moser & Cie. has reinvented the ancient art of Grand Feu enamelling, bringing it firmly into the modern era. A textured pattern is engraved on a white gold base to create a hammered effect. Two enamel pigments, washed, ground and applied in a gradient, create a vibrant colour generated by successive firings. Never pixellated, always alive. The result is an intense, luminous, almost incandescent Red fumé dial, devoid of indices and logos in line with the brand’s minimalist philosophy.
At 6 o’clock, a one-minute flying tourbillon energises the overall composition. The HMC 805 automatic calibre that drives the watch is equipped with a double hairspring designed and produced in-house by H. Moser & Cie.’s sister company, Precision Engineering AG. This pair of matching hairsprings improves accuracy and isochronism, compensating for the effects of shifts in the centre of gravity when the springs expand. The bridges and main plate, finished in anthracite grey, offer a subtle contrast to the red gold oscillating weight, emphasising the contemporary elegance of the movement.
With the Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Ceramic model, H. Moser & Cie. is embarking on a new chapter and expanding its creative horizons by incorporating a material as exacting as it is radical into its creative language.
H. Moser & Cie.’s own and unique take on Haute Horlogerie.

With the Delphis Art Deco, Chronoswiss presents a bold reinterpretation of one of its most iconic complications. Inspired by the design language of the Roaring Twenties, this new edition pays tribute to an era defined by artistic freedom, architectural clarity, and a fascination with modern progress.
The Art Deco movement that flourished during the 1920s reshaped the visual culture of its time. From architecture and graphic design to fashion and industrial objects, it introduced a new aesthetic built on geometry, symmetry, and refined contrasts. It was a period where craftsmanship met innovation, and where decorative arts embraced modernity without abandoning tradition.
These values resonate deeply with the philosophy of Chronoswiss today.
With the Delphis Art Deco, the brand translates this spirit into a contemporary mechanical sculpture for the wrist.
A Dial inspired by Art Deco Geometry
At the center of the Delphis Art Deco lies a dial that reflects the architectural elegance of the Art Deco era.
The main dial surface is nickel-coated and laser-structured, creating a subtle three- dimensional texture that plays with light and shadow. Its refined grey tone evokes the metallic elegance and restrained color palettes characteristic of Art Deco design.
Hovering above this surface is the distinctive Delphis display. At 12 o’clock, the jumping hour advances instantly at the top of each hour. At the center, the retrograde minute hand sweeps across the curved scale before snapping back to its starting position. At the lower part of the dial, the small seconds rotate continuously.
For the small seconds, Chronoswiss introduces a baby-blue azur tone, achieved through a unique lacquer on a hand-guilloché base. The intricate guilloché pattern is engraved in- house at the Atelier Lucerne using century-old machines, creating a dynamic texture beneath the Art Deco-inspired white typography.
The gold-plated minute ring adds a warm contrast to the cool grey dial and reinforces the geometric clarity that defines the entire composition.
Modern Presence – Crafted in Lucerne
The 42 mm case of the Delphis Art Deco is crafted from Grade 5 titanium and finished in a matte grey tone. Lightweight yet exceptionally durable, the material lends the watch a modern architectural presence while ensuring comfort on the wrist.
Paired with a black nubuck strap, the piece balances the bold mechanical architecture of the Delphis complication with a refined contemporary aesthetic.
Powering the Delphis Art Deco is the Chronoswiss Manufacture Caliber C.6004, developed together with La Joux-Perret. The automatic movement offers a 55-hour power reserve and is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
Inside, traditional finishing techniques meet modern engineering, reflecting the same philosophy that defines the watch itself: heritage craftsmanship expressed through contemporary watchmaking.
A new chapter for an Icon
The Delphis has long been one of the most recognizable complications within the Chronoswiss universe and has remained an icon since its introduction in 1996.
With the Delphis Art Deco, Chronoswiss revisits this emblematic complication through the lens of one of history’s most influential design movements.
A mechanical tribute to the Roaring Twenties – reimagined for the collectors of today.

Maison Trilobe has never been interested in making conventional watches. Since its debut, the independent French watchmaker has challenged traditional horology with its patented rotating ring display that eliminates conventional hands. With the launch of the Trente-Deux Secret Edition, Trilobe takes its philosophy a step further, transforming personal memories into wearable works of art through a unique combination of astronomy, craftsmanship, and haute horlogerie.
In luxury watchmaking, personalization often means choosing a dial colour, engraving initials, or selecting a bespoke strap. The Maison Trilobe Trente-Deux Secret Edition offers something far more meaningful. Every watch features a custom star map recreating the exact night sky from a date, time, and location chosen by its owner, turning a cherished memory into a permanent celestial signature on the dial.
Whether commemorating a wedding, the birth of a child, an engagement, or a defining life milestone, the Trente-Deux Secret Edition transforms a fleeting moment into a timeless object. It is not merely a luxury watch; it is a deeply personal story told through the language of the stars.
A Truly Unique Luxury Watch
At the heart of the Trente-Deux Secret Edition lies a sophisticated astronomical algorithm capable of recreating the precise appearance of the night sky at any meaningful moment. The system incorporates more than 1,600 constellations and is based on the work of renowned Belgian astronomer Jean Meeus, whose astronomical calculations remain a benchmark in the scientific community.
The algorithm accounts for celestial coordinates, the Earth’s movement around the Sun, and the tilt of its axis to determine the exact position of stars at a specific date, time, and location. As a result, every dial becomes entirely unique, ensuring that no two Secret Edition watches are ever identical.
For collectors, this means owning a timepiece that preserves a personal memory with scientific precision and artistic beauty.
From Celestial Data to Horological Art
Creating a personalized star map dial requires more than advanced calculations. It also demands exceptional craftsmanship.
Each constellation is first engraved onto a dedicated metal plate before being transferred onto the dial using a meticulous pad-printing process. Artisans apply powdered silver ink in successive micro-deposits, gradually building the stars layer by layer. Multiple lacquer applications then create depth and luminosity, giving the impression of celestial bodies floating across the night sky.
The entire process takes place in a controlled clean-room environment, ensuring absolute precision and preserving the purity of the dial. The result is a miniature celestial landscape where technical mastery meets artistic expression.
The Distinctive Trente-Deux Display
The Secret Edition is housed within the Trente-Deux collection, one of Trilobe’s most distinctive creations. Rather than relying on traditional hands, time is displayed through the Maison’s patented system of three rotating rings that indicate hours, minutes, and seconds on a single plane.
This innovative display creates a striking sense of motion while maintaining exceptional legibility. Combined with the personalized star map dial, it reinforces the idea that both time and memories are constantly in motion, yet capable of being preserved.
Powered by the In-House X-Nihilo Calibre
Driving the Trente-Deux Secret Edition is the X-Nihilo calibre, Maison Trilobe’s first in-house movement. Designed, developed, assembled, and regulated entirely in Paris, the movement reflects the brand’s commitment to independent watchmaking and technical excellence.

Steel and Rose Gold Interpretations
The Trente-Deux Secret Edition is available in two distinct versions.
The stainless steel model is paired with an integrated steel bracelet, enhancing the contemporary architecture of the case. Meanwhile, the 18k rose gold version introduces a more relaxed elegance through a specially developed blue rubber strap that perfectly complements the sunray blue celestial dial.
Both versions maintain the collection’s refined aesthetic while offering different personalities for collectors seeking either modern versatility or warm sophistication.
More Than a Personalized Watch
The true achievement of the Trente-Deux Secret Edition lies in its ability to merge emotion with engineering. While many luxury watches celebrate mechanical innovation, few create such a direct connection between the wearer and the timepiece itself.
Every star on the dial represents a real celestial position from a specific moment in someone’s life. Every watch becomes a one-of-one creation. In an industry obsessed with limited editions, Trilobe has created something even rarer: a watch that cannot be replicated.
Final Thoughts
The Maison Trilobe Trente-Deux Secret Edition stands as one of the most original personalized luxury watches of 2025. Combining astronomical precision, artisanal craftsmanship, innovative watchmaking, and emotional storytelling, it offers collectors an entirely new way to experience time.
Rather than simply measuring the passing hours, the Trente-Deux Secret Edition preserves a moment forever. And in a world where every second disappears as quickly as it arrives, that may be the most meaningful luxury of all.
Created as a poetic expression of the eternal relationship between the Sun and the Moon, SKYDANCE is one of the most refined feminine creations to emerge from Les Ateliers Louis Moinet in recent years. It is delicate without feeling fragile, technical without appearing complex, and luxurious in a way that feels deeply emotional rather than overtly extravagant.
A Watch Inspired by the Sky
The idea behind SKYDANCE is beautifully simple. The Sun and Moon, two celestial bodies that have guided humanity for centuries, become the central characters of an elegant mechanical performance. While the Moon rests quietly on a disc made from genuine lunar meteorite, the Sun moves continuously across the dial in a graceful sixty-second rotation.
What makes the watch captivating is the way Louis Moinet transforms astronomy into emotion. The dial feels alive. Light shifts across the white mother-of-pearl surface, diamonds shimmer subtly as hour markers, and the aventurine backdrop creates the illusion of a night sky filled with stars. Nothing feels excessive. Every detail has purpose.
The rotating Sun is particularly mesmerising. Instead of relying on dramatic complications, SKYDANCE creates visual theatre through motion and texture. It is the kind of watch that quietly draws attention the longer you look at it.
Rare Materials, Thoughtfully Used
Luxury today is no longer only about precious metals or gem-setting. It is increasingly about craftsmanship, rarity, and storytelling. SKYDANCE understands this perfectly.
The inclusion of Dhofar 457 lunar meteorite immediately gives the piece a sense of authenticity and wonder. This is not decorative imitation but an actual fragment connected to space and time itself. Combined with aventurine, mother-of-pearl, white ceramic, and grade 5 titanium, the watch feels contemporary while still deeply romantic.
At 35.6 mm, the proportions are elegant and wearable. The titanium construction keeps the watch light on the wrist, while the ceramic bezel adds brightness and modernity. Details such as the fleur-de-lys crown and white ceramic cabochons on the lugs reinforce the artisanal nature of the piece without overpowering the design.
A Feminine Watch Without Stereotypes
One of the strongest aspects of SKYDANCE is that it does not rely on clichés often associated with women’s watches. It is not simply a smaller version of an existing model, nor does it depend solely on diamonds to create desirability.
Instead, Louis Moinet approaches femininity through emotion, artistry, and storytelling. The result is a watch that feels intelligent and expressive. It speaks to collectors who appreciate fine watchmaking but also want personality and poetry on the wrist.
The two versions, each limited to just 28 pieces, enhance that exclusivity. One model features a bezel set with six diamonds, while the second elevates the brilliance further with sixty diamonds representing every minute of the hour.
The Movement Behind the Magic
Inside SKYDANCE is the automatic LM58 calibre, operating at 4 Hz with a 42-hour power reserve. While technically impressive, the movement is designed to support the watch’s artistic vision rather than dominate it.
Even the oscillating weight continues the celestial theme, featuring a decorative Sun and Moon motif visible through the sapphire caseback. It is a thoughtful touch that ensures the storytelling continues from every angle.
A Meaningful Year for Louis Moinet
The launch of SKYDANCE arrives during an important period for the maison. In 2026, Louis Moinet celebrates the 210th anniversary of the world’s first chronograph, originally completed in 1816, as well as the 220th anniversary of the historic year 1806, when Louis Moinet created remarkable pieces for figures including Napoléon Bonaparte.
That heritage matters because SKYDANCE does not feel disconnected from the brand’s identity. Even though it is distinctly feminine, it still carries the same fascination with astronomy, mechanics, and artistic craftsmanship that has defined Louis Moinet for generations.
Final Thoughts
SKYDANCE is not designed to shout. Its beauty lies in its restraint, its motion, and the emotion it creates on the wrist. In an industry increasingly driven by louder designs and larger cases, Louis Moinet has chosen to create something softer, more intimate, and ultimately more memorable.
It is a watch that captures the magic of looking up at the night sky and translating that feeling into haute horlogerie. And in doing so, SKYDANCE becomes more than a timepiece. It becomes a small universe of its own.

For decades, the world of watch collecting has been defined by legacy, lineage, and a certain unspoken exclusivity. TickTockBelles doesn’t attempt to disrupt that narrative—it simply rewrites it with quiet precision. Founded by Deborah Wong and Stephanie Soh, the platform brings a new kind of authority to horology—one that feels instinctive rather than inherited, personal rather than performative.
What Deborah and Stephanie have built isn’t about claiming space—it’s about redefining it. Their approach to watch collecting feels intimate, self-assured, and deeply considered, where every piece carries a story and every conversation invites more voices in. In an industry that has often spoken at women, TickTockBelles speaks with them—cultivating a community that is as discerning as it is inclusive.
We spoke to Deborah Wong and Stephanie Soh about what sparked TickTockBelles, the subtle biases still shaping the industry, and what needs to change for the next generation of collectors.
What triggered the creation of TickTockBelles—was it a gap you saw, or a barrier you experienced?
The founding of TickTockBelles in 2022 was triggered by a combination of a gap in the market for a female centric watch community and barrier in the industry for gender inclusivity.
The Gap (Lack of a female centric watch community): As frequent recipients of questions from other women looking for timepieces guidance, we identified a need for a female-focused platform to support interest in watch collecting.
The Barrier (Lack of advocates for gender inclusivity): Depending on the market, we observed that the luxury watch space was historically imbalance in gender inclusivity. Female watch enthusiasts may be perceived as uninterested in mechanical complications or craftsmanship. Sales personnel frequently focus on promoting trends or jewel watches to female clientele, rather than the technical appreciation of the timepiece, which created a less than conducive retail experience for serious women collectors.
In one sentence: what does TickTockBelles stand for that the watch industry currently doesn’t?
TickTockBelles stands for a dedicated, safe, and inclusive community that fosters genuine horological passion among women without the ego, hype, or gender bias often found in the traditionally male-dominated watch industry.
What’s the most subtle form of bias women face in watch collecting today?
The Most Subtle Form of Bias: “Dismissive Retail Experiences”
Mansplaining and Underestimation: The most subtle, yet pervasive, bias is the assumptions that female collectors lack technical knowledge, leading to “mansplaining” about watch complications.
Superficial Targeting: Brands and sales personnel frequently focus on selling to women based on aesthetics—like the number of diamonds or current trends—rather than engaging them in the technical, mechanical, or heritage-worthy aspects of a timepiece.
The “Secondary” Customer: There is a lingering, subtle assumption in many retail environments that women are browsing for gifts or luxury accessories, rather than serious, self-purchasing collectors.
What’s one myth about women collectors that you actively push back against?
“Women Only Buy Smaller, Quartz Watches for Fashion”
The Myth: It is commonly believed that women prefer, or should only wear, small, quartz-powered, or highly embellished “ladies’ watches,” and that these watches are worth less than men’s watches.
The Reality/Pushback: Women are increasingly aware about what type of watches suit their lifestyles and personalities. They are fast developing keen interests in the in mechanical aspects of the timepieces. There is also budding trends of women appreciating independent watchmaking.
No Gender for Horology: We advocate that watches should not bear gender label which commonly give rise to the notion of “male” watch is better than a “female” watch. The appreciation should lie in the movement, design, and history etc.
The “Small is the New Big” Trend: We embrace a trend where “tiny is the new big” while also appreciating larger, historically male-targeted timepieces.
Have you ever changed someone’s perception of women in horology through this platform? Tell us that moment.
Over the last 3 plus years, we were frequently been invited by watch brands, independent watchmakers and microbrands to host female centric get-togethers. This is a prominent shift and a testament that the industry recognises women possesse independent spending capabilities and decision making when it comes to watch acquisitions.
We are most flattered when male collectors feedback that they often recommended their female friends and family to be a part of TickTockBelles community should they are keen to learn more about watch appreciation.
In recent times, we also have male collectors enquiring if they could join our community activities and get-togethers. We are humbled that our advocy has brought about perception shift to more masses and not just confined to a single individual.
What kind of watch conversations excite you the most right now—design, mechanics, or cultural storytelling?
The conversations that excite us most right now are those surrounding cultural storytelling and the broader emotional connection women have with watches. While we appreciate design and mechanics, our primary focus is on shifting the narrative within the watch industry. We are particularly energized by:
Breaking Gender Barriers: We are passionate about inclusivity and to encourage women to pursue watch collecting as a serious hobby and passion.
Community and Connection: We find great excitement in meeting fellow female enthusiasts globally and building a safe space where women can discuss watches at the most basic level. Conversations on how to build authentic engagement and culture within watch community is critical.
Legacy and Personal Narratives: Conversations often center on watches as heirlooms and the “legacy planning” aspect of collecting, where a timepiece’s value is tied to the personal stories it will carry for the next generation.
Which brand or move in the industry recently made you think, “okay, this is progress”?
A move that signals true progress in the watch industry is when brands move beyond gender stereotypes — such as simply adding diamonds or reducing watch case sizes — and instead focus on authentic inclusion and mechanical substance for women. Some key examples and perspectives on progress include:
Gender-Inclusive Marketing: When retailers and brands host female-centric activities, encouraging women to explore watches for their mechanical and artistic value rather than just as accessories.
Mechanical Substance over Aesthetics: When heritage brands invest in both movement and aesthetics for women’s watches, rather than defaulting to quartz movements for the female segment with the excuses that they fit better in smaller watches.
Collaborations and Independent Brands: Our collaboration with the microbrand Awake Concept on the “Cotton Candy” watch—a piece with a hand-mixed lacquer dial that attracted both female and male collectors—represents a move toward gender-neutral appreciation and artistic innovation.
Brands to Watch: Parmigiani Fleurier
What’s one trend in watch culture you think is overrated — or even harmful?
There are two such prominent trends currently – Chasing the hype, and watch as investments which could lead to potential pitfalls:
Financial Loss: Purchasing a watch simply because it is popular especially if they are acquired at premium in secondary markets. If the market shifts South, there may be financial losses.
“Expensive Regret”: If you no longer like the timepiece once the hype dies down, the purchase becomes a regret.
Lack of Personal Affinity: We believe in collecting based on a genuine emotional connection and personal style rather than market trends.
If you had the power to influence one real change across watch brands globally, what would it be?
The one real change we would like to continue to influence is for watch brands to move past the “shrink it and pink it” mentality. Some integrated shifts in how global brands operate could include de-gendering watches, technical inclusion, incorporate form and function as part of brand conversation.
When a young woman discovers watches today, what do you hope her first experience feels like?
We hope for the experience to be inclusive and a discovery of self-expression. TickTockBelles community friends are always eager to help each other to find a timepiece that we have a genuine affinity for. Something that speaks to our hearts, a reminder of a personal story or even to commemorate a milestone in life. We hope she feels empowered to choose unconventional shapes, vintage pieces, or even “men’s” sports models based on what fits her lifestyle and future as a potential heirloom.
The Shift Ahead
If the future of horology is about perspective, not prescription, TickTockBelles is already shaping it. Deborah Wong and Stephanie Soh aren’t just expanding the conversation—they’re making it more thoughtful, more open, and ultimately, more real.

Girard-Perregaux at the Summit of Haute Horlogerie: Cosmos, Neo Constant Escapement & Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges
Few manufactures embody the union of invention, chronometric ambition and visual poetry quite like Girard-Perregaux. Founded in 1791, the Maison has consistently pushed the boundaries of mechanical watchmaking, not only in pursuit of precision, but also in the way time is architecturally expressed. In its latest high-horology statements, Girard-Perregaux presents three extraordinary creations that together form a manifesto of its savoir-faire: the Cosmos (Unique Piece), the Neo Constant Escapement, and the Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges. Each explores a different dimension of time — cosmic, constant, and architectural — yet all are unmistakably Girard-Perregaux.

Cosmos: A Mechanical Universe on the Wrist
The Girard-Perregaux Cosmos returns in 2025 as a unique piece, reaffirming the Manufacture’s mastery of complex complications and poetic display. First introduced in 2019, the Cosmos stands apart for its ability to translate astronomical phenomena into three-dimensional mechanical theatre.
At the heart of this titanium-cased timepiece lies three major complications:
A tourbillon positioned at six o’clock, housed within a lyre-shaped cage and supported by a titanium Neo Bridge — a contemporary interpretation of Constant Girard’s historic arrow-shaped bridges.
A terrestrial globe at three o’clock, rotating once every 24 hours and offering a day/night indication, encircled by an hour ring inspired by Saturn’s rings.
A celestial globe at nine o’clock, mapping the Zodiac constellations and completing a rotation in a true sidereal day (23h 56m 4s).
The dial construction is equally evocative: a two-part surface combining Tahitian mother-of-pearl with a reduced-thickness layer of blue aventurine, allowing light to interact with shimmering mineral textures. The off-centred time display, rendered in black with white-gold hands and luminescent accents, ensures legibility amid the cosmic complexity.
Powering the watch is the in-house Calibre GP09320, a hand-wound movement finished to the highest standards, featuring circular graining, bevelled bridges and a power reserve of at least 57 hours. Even the act of winding becomes an experience, thanks to four rotating bows (“bélières”) on the case back, replacing a conventional crown.
The Cosmos is not merely a complication showcase — it is a miniature universe, engineered with scientific precision and poetic intent.
If the Cosmos speaks to wonder, the Neo Constant Escapement speaks to control — specifically, the pursuit of constant force, one of watchmaking’s most elusive goals. Building on the award-winning Constant Escapement concept that earned Girard-Perregaux the Aiguille d’Or in 2013, the Neo Constant Escapement represents decades of research distilled into a wearable chronometer.
Central to this innovation is a silicium blade, inspired by the physical phenomenon of buckling. Regardless of how much energy remains in the twin barrels, this blade delivers a perfectly uniform impulse to the balance wheel, ensuring stable amplitude and exceptional rate consistency until the very last moment of power.
The 2025 releases introduce two new executions:
A 45 mm pink gold version, combining advanced escapement technology with the warmth and gravitas of a precious metal case.
An ultra-limited carbon and silicium composite edition, restricted to just two numbered pieces, offering exceptional lightness, resistance, and a stealthy contemporary aesthetic.
Both are powered by the COSC-certified Calibre GP09200, an in-house hand-wound movement offering an impressive 7-day power reserve. The architecture of the dial places the escapement front and centre, beneath Neo Bridges, transforming mechanical regulation into a visual focal point.
The Neo Constant Escapement is not designed to impress through ornament alone — it is a demonstration of how deep scientific insight can redefine mechanical performance at the highest level.

Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges: Architecture in Light
The Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges is perhaps the most emblematic expression of Girard-Perregaux’s identity. Rooted in the legendary Three Bridges Tourbillon of 1867 and immortalised by La Esmeralda in 1889, the bridges have evolved into a signature where structure and beauty are inseparable.
The latest iteration is housed in a 44 mm white gold case and limited to just eight pieces worldwide. Three black-tinted titanium bridges, more sinuous and contemporary than their 19th-century predecessors, appear to float within a sapphire “box” case that floods the movement with light.
Unlike traditional designs, the watch dispenses with a conventional mainplate. Instead, the bridges themselves provide structural integrity, supporting the gear train, barrel and tourbillon. Luminescent hour markers are mounted directly onto the case, while skeletonised white-gold hands ensure clarity without disrupting the airy, three-dimensional composition.
Inside beats the Calibre GP09400, a self-winding movement with a patented micro-rotor crafted in white gold. Ingeniously positioned beneath the barrel, the micro-rotor allows the movement to remain slim while preserving an unobstructed view of its architecture. With a minimum 60-hour power reserve, it is as technically refined as it is visually captivating.
This is horology as architecture — light, space and mechanics fused into a singular aesthetic statement.

Three Visions, One Manufacture
Together, the Cosmos, Neo Constant Escapement, and Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges illustrate the extraordinary breadth of Girard-Perregaux’s expertise. From cosmic complication to constant-force innovation and architectural transparency, each watch represents a distinct philosophy, yet all share the same foundations: in-house mastery, uncompromising finishing, and a relentless drive to push Haute Horlogerie forward.
These are not merely timepieces — they are mechanical narratives, written by a Manufacture that has been shaping the future of watchmaking for over two centuries.

THE GOLDEN TICKET
2 of the 88 future owners of a ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’will be drawn at random and win an exact replica of the legendary Japanese sword from ‘The Bride’. Forged, in the film, by Master Hattori Hanzo in his Okinawa forge, this katana embodies the purity of traditional craftsmanship and the relentless determination of its user !
Starting point:
Since the brand was created in 2019, art and cinema have always been at the heart of our approach and are part of a constant desire to push the boundaries of creativity. The brand’s positioning in the fascinating world of Métiers d’Art takes AWAKE’s vision to a whole new level: that of traditions and craft techniques that elevate the craftsman to the rank of artist, part of a cultural heritage whose beauty and poetry we want to pass on.
AWAKE’s ambition is to be a bold and contemporary new approach to exceptional craftsmanship, reinterpreting ancestral techniques to draw out their essence in the service of creativity. For the second time and after the ‘JURASSIC WATCH ’, we put the expertise of our artisans at the service of the 7th Art, to pay tribute to movies that shaped our childhood, marked our adolescence and nourished our imagination and creativity!
Reminiscence, you’ve got us.. again !
‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ is a collaborative project, peppered with references, bringing together craftsmen and technicians to offer you an artistic and horological interpretation of a film that left its mark on millions of viewers in the 2000s. This highly exclusive edition is inspired by the multiple film genres that KILL BILL explores – kung fu movies, gore, epic films, spaghetti westerns and anime – and appeals to both the watch enthusiast and the film fan in us, allowing us to delve into the past and stir our nostalgia!
Our master lacquerers made countless attempts to mix pigments and reinterpret, within the tiny space of our dials, the graphic and aesthetic codes of Q.Tarantino’s cult film, this edition pays tribute to. An exclusive and, it must be said, a bit crazy edition to celebrate in our own way a masterpiece of cinema that tackles themes of revenge and personal justice, betrayal and loyalty, power and female autonomy, ethics and morality.
‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ in detail:
The name of this limited edition ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ is a first nod to the team of assassins working for the cruel Bill, who is relentlessly pursued by the heroine Beatrix Kiddo: The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad! A ‘deadly’ name for a truly badass watch that features a dial crafted entirely by hand in our Hanoi workshops, using traditional Vietnamese Sơn Mài lacquer techniques. Its unique colors, inspired by the aesthetic codes of the film KILL BILL and the world of Q.Tarantino in general are obtained from organic materials and create an intense ensemble with striking reflections and powerful symbolism:
– Yellow: is associated here with happiness, energy and purity of the soul. All these things were torn away from the heroine Beatrix Kiddo, plunging her into a blind quest for vengeance.
– Red: is associated with danger, anger, revenge, the heroine’s extreme passions, whether love or hate, and of course blood. Our master lacquerers came to smear the dial by hand with small splashes of blood using red pigmented lacquer.
– Black: on the dial’s outer rim refers to the overall atmosphere of the film, the smell of gunpowder lingering in the air after the initial shootout, the absence of light in Beatrix Kiddo’s heart, and the mystery surrounding her character, also known as ‘Black Mamba’.
– The AWAKE logo is stamped in black pad printing to contrast with the yellow of the dial, and uses a ‘Western’ font, a recurring feature in Tarantino’s works and inspired by a genre dear to the American director: the ‘spaghetti western’.
– at 6 o’clock: another applique, also in pad printing, refers to the two iconic katanas used by Bill and « The Bride » and takes us back to the cult scene in the Okinawa forge, where Hattori Hanzo agrees to come out of retirement to forge a blade ‘destined to kill Bill’, embodying the purity of traditional craftsmanship and the relentless determination of its user.
A case back full of details:
‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ is equipped with our La Joux-Perret G101 automatic calibre, a guarantee of excellence and performance offering 68 hours of power reserve, distinguished by its tungsten rotor featuring elegant contrasts between recessed and raised surfaces, and refined finishing techniques. The whole is encircled by a ring with polished and micro-bead-blasted finishes and engraved with multiple details that will delight both watch enthusiasts and film lovers :
– The name of this edition ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ as well as the brand’s motto ‘Artisanship, Awakened’ are engraved at 12 and 6 o’clock respectively, in a ‘Western Spaghetti’ font, inspired by a genre dear to Q. Tarantino and omnipresent in his cinematography, echoing the logo on the dial.
– The quotation “I’m gonna kill Bill” borrowed from the strong and independent heroine Beatrix Kiddo, who is betrayed and left for dead, then embarks on a quest for vengeance to regain control of her life, is subtly engraved at 9 o’clock.
– The numbering of this edition: for even more fun, we have chosen to number 88 copies and precede the number with the word ‘Crazy’! A playful nod to the ‘Crazy 88’ wearing black masks and black suits typical of the Yakuza.
– Finally, we also engraved four M16 bullets, recalling the film’s opening shootout in a small chapel lost in the middle of the desert. Only ‘The Bride’ survives her injuries and has only one goal: to take revenge !
Handmade straps inspired by The Bride’s outfit :
Handcrafted by master saddlers at Bouveret in Franche-Comté, France, the straps used on ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ are inspired by the famous yellow and black leather outfit worn by the heroine Beatrix Kiddo, itself inspired by Bruce Lee’s cult films, dear to Q. Tarantino. For the sake of realism, we have selected a supple, durable, fine-grained matte black Barenia calfskin leather and paired it with a yellow calfskin lining – yellow topstitching on the top and red on the bottom. Each strap requires 60 steps to ensure comfort and durability. Equipped with ‘presto’ pumps and mounted on our hollow pin buckle made from recycled 316L steel. Dimensions: 115×70 or 115×80 / 20x16mm.

Brilliance and Profoundness combined with natural pigments: AWAKE has embraced a technique never before used in watchmaking for the ‘Cotton Candy’ limited edition’s dials: Sơn Mài or Vietnamese sanded lacquer. Designed to reveal the beauty of our dials in interplay between light and shadow, this luminous signature blends elegance, legibility, and respect for the material. The Sơn Mài – Cotton Candy symbolizes the celebration of friendship, just like the bond we encourage amongst our watch community friends.” Stephanie & Deborah
Portrait of Deborah Wong aka @luxecoffer
An unexpected win of a Quartz watch in a quiz competition at teen age had started Deborah’s interests in watches. She has been a novice watch collector over the years but only turned serious less than 10 years ago. Deborah favors two-hands movement timepieces because they are effortless and uncomplicated. Most often when being consulted on timepiece selection, Deborah recommends to consider 3 main philosophies that we wanted to respect throughout the creation of this « Cotton Candy » limited edition – Simplicity , Classic and Versatility –
Co-founding TickTockBelles in 2022 has been an exciting journey for Deborah who often could be seen advocating for gender diversity and building female friendly watch communities amongst the brands.
Portrait of Stephanie Soh aka @bubbasteph
Stephanie aka @bubbasteph loves watches from a young age. Her first watch was a Bradley Mickey Mouse which she still holds dear today ! Stephanie has a diverse watch collection ranging from vintage to modern timepieces. Each timepiece is carefully curated for their movement and craftsmanship. Stephanie shares the same hobby with her husband whom she met at a watch shop over an IWC Pilot Chronograph ! The rest is history…
In recent years, she has noticed growing numbers of women who have become interested in horology; starting with her own fashionista friends seeking opinions about watches rather than fashion. With that in mind, she co-founded @ticktockbelles, a platform to support women’s interest in watch collecting, with Deborah Wong, another female watch enthusiast.
The Vietnamese Art of “Son Mai”: Lustrous Brilliance and Profoundness
AWAKE has embraced a technique never before used in watchmaking for the ‘Cotton Candy’ limited edition’s dials: Sơn Mài, or Vietnamese sanded lacquer. This ancient art involves meticulously layering and polishing coats of natural lacquer to achieve a lustrous, mirror-like finish that elevates Vietnamese lacquerware to an unparalleled level of prestige.
All begins with the careful extraction of sap from the Rhus verniciflua tree, which grows in northern Vietnam and is renowned for producing the finest and most radiant lacquer. Each tree, after a decade of growth, yields a mere 200 ml of sap, harvested only during the early mornings of June and July. Once collected, the sap is processed to remove moisture and impurities, then filtered and dehydrated to create a transparent lacquer.
A Time-Intensive Process
The process begins with a base coat of lacquer, which is dried, sanded, and polished to achieve a flawlessly smooth surface. Natural pigments are then subsequently airbrushed to enrich the visual dimension of the dial and to produce a range of vibrant shades, inspired by the cyan and pink colors of the TickTockBelles logo. Finally, a dozen layers of lacquer are applied to provide protection, brilliance, and durability. This intricate, time-intensive process requires exceptional skill and unwavering precision, ensuring that every dial in the Sơn Mài collection emerges as a true work of art.
Mastery of Luminescence
‘Sơn Mài – Cotton Candy’ features our innovative luminous “cap signature’’, inspired by the poetic aesthetics of Japanese chiaroscuro. This refined effect took a full year to perfect. Designed to reveal the beauty of our dials in interplay between light and shadow, this luminous signature blends elegance, legibility, and respect for the material. Rather than overpowering it with light, we chose to elevate it with subtlety—a philosophy reflected in the unique and complex construction of our hands and indexes, shaped through multiple machining stages.
The hands and hour markers are composed of a slim yet robust base of Luminova BGW9, topped with faceted, polished steel inserts, each finished to a fine glaive point. This exclusive design offers a discreet and refined reading of time, never detracting from the richness and the sweetness of this dial. In the darkness, the glow spreads gently, creating a poetic halo that reveals the deep reflections of the lacquer and the soft hues of the natural pink and cyan pigments specially created for this limited edition ‘Cotton Candy’.
Timeless Elegance and Contemporary Flair.
‘Sơn Mài – Cotton Candy’ limited edition is housed in our 39 mm case, crafted from recycled 316L steel, that perfectly marries modern aesthetics with timeless elegance and comfort. Inspired by the finest elements of classic watch design, the case strikes a refined balance between heritage and contemporary style.
Its sleek silhouette is enhanced by polished bezel and lugs, including a striking chamfer that stretches elegantly from one lug to the other. In contrast, the case sides are brushed horizontally, adding a discreet and modern touch. The crown combines alternating polished, brushed and sandblasted finishes for a sophisticated feel and a better grip, and is crowned with the polished ‘Genesis’ symbol, an emblem of the four elemental forces—air, earth, water, and fire— that reflect our commitment to harmony between innovation, tradition, and environmental consciousness.
Reliability and Mechanical Excellence
The screw-down case back of the ‘Cotton Candy’ limited edition – rendered in subtle grey tones – reveals a generous view of the reliable and precise Swiss Made G101 movement, developed by the prestigious manufacture La Joux-Perret. Renowned for its 68-hour power reserve, the movement is distinguished by a custom-designed tungsten rotor, sculpted with alternating reliefs and hollows to create a captivating play of light and depth, all protected by a sapphire crystal. Our signature water-resistance hallmark (the fish) and recycled 316L steel hallmark (the anvil) are discreetly engraved within the lugs — a playful reminder that one can take watchmaking seriously without taking oneself too seriously. Encircling the movement is a custom sandblasted ring, where the inscriptions specific to this limited edition are subtly laser-engraved.
Exclusive strap for TickTockBelles
To sublimate this limited edition of 33 pieces, we selected a white grained calf leather strap (20/16mm), with a soft, luxurious texture and embellished with light grey topstitching. Comfortable and resistant, this 105x65mm (S size) strap has been designed by Awake and TickTockBelles to complement each dial in this new collection to perfection and adapt elegantly to slimmer wrists. This strap is mounted on a recycled 316L stainless steel pin buckle and equipped with presto spring bars.
The bracelets for this limited edition have been handcrafted in France by master saddlers at the Bouveret factory in Franois, Franche-Comté. Each of the bracelets in this edition has passed through expert hands forged by years of experience, breathing soul into the material. From the rigorous selection of the noblest skins, to cutting, assembling, trimming, threading and sewing, a total of nearly 60 operations are performed by the expert hand of the master saddler, demonstrating perfect mastery.

Trente-Deux Collection: Seven years,
At the crossroad of reason and daring
Seven years after their launch, Trilobe proudly presents the Trente-Deux collection. A symbolic milestone, a new maturity, embodied by a groundbreaking movement: entirely conceived, designed, developed, machined, crafted, decorated, and assembled in Paris, within the new Trilobe Manufacture.
32 is much more than a number. It is the address of their design studio and Parisian workshop. It has also been the internal code name for their latest collection for more than three years of development. It is their anchor, the guiding thread that inspired every step of the creation process.
Today, this collection becomes the manifesto of their independence, their commitment to doing things differently, in Paris, with excellence, inventiveness, and passion. TRENTE-DEUX of the Nuit Fantastique dial are paired with an integrated metal bracelet, opening a new territory of expression.
The X-Nihilo Calibre: Trilobe’s first manufacture movement
Conceived, designed, developed, prototyped, machined, decorated, and assembled entirely in-house, the X-Nihilo is Trilobe’s first Manufacture movement.
Its bold architecture revolves around an open island, creating space and spotlighting an isolated, magnified balance wheel.
The X-Nihilo calibre offers a 42-h power reserve, combining technical excellence with a distinctive aesthetic.
A new steel signature
Case and bracelet are designed as a sophisticated, cohesive whole. The bracelet is shaped to perfectly hug the wrist, with each satin-brushed and beveled link gradually narrowing for a refined and fluid taper. The interlinks, polished to a mirror finish, echo the Trilobe’s pointed shape, creating a signature motif and animating the surface with a subtle play of light.
Structurally, the bracelet alternates links and interlinks in a simple yet refined layout and adjusts smoothly thanks to its flexible construction. Interlinks differ on their visible and internal faces: decorative on the outside, functional on the inside, ensuring overall robustness.
It features a double folding clasp engraved with the Trilobe logo. With no visible push buttons, it operates via a spring blade for clean aesthetics and intuitive handling.
The case is composed of seven individually-finished elements, revealing a sculptural silhouette. It features three chamfered tiers with asymmetrical lateral fins and a beveled mid-case.
The bezel presents a unique design: its profile is fluted, with mirror-polished ridges and matte-finished grooves, enhancing the interplay of contrast and light. Its geometry subtly incorporates the Trilobe motif.
This new architecture directly echoes the design of the crown, which was specially conceived for this collection.
The Trente-Deux collection remains true to Trilobe’s iconic off-center time display, while introducing a completely reimagined dial. A circular chapter ring, both satin-brushed and mirror-polished, echoes the bracelet’s finish and anchors the composition. Its extreme thinness, combined with its large diameter, requires absolute precision in machining to ensure perfect flatness without deformation.
Every detail enhances the movement’s contrasts: fine or raw grainings on the bridges and plates, black polishing on screws and bushing for a sutble finish. Screws and jewels are highlighted with concave, diamond- polished surroundings.
On the surface, the bridges echo the bracelet’s satin finish, while the rhodium- plated gears display a circular brushing aligned with their motion. The oscillating weight combines a sunburst pattern with grain texturing, highlighting both its structure and lightness.
A true hallmark of the brand, these textures interact with the 5N gold treatment, whose warmth and patina will evolve over time.
The openworked oscillating weight made of tungsten reveals the balance wheel, supported by a bridge inspired by traditionnal watchmaking. The tailor-made balance wheel features ftheir chronometric regulation screws for precise adjustment, ensuring long-term stability and accuracy.
Resulting from a singular design approach, the oscillating weight is equipped with a system of safety pins that protect the movement from major shocks, preserving the integrity of both bridges and internal components.
Through the sapphire caseback, the movement appears to float in space: the mirror-polished inner case reflects the movement to create striking depth.
The “Paris – France” engraving on the movement’s bridge uses a typography inspired by vintage Parisian street signs.
Trente-Deux (Sunray Blue) 3201BS
The dial, available in grey or blue and measuring 39.5 mm in diameter, also plays with textures: a matte sunray finish, grained discs for hours and minutes, and a seconds wheel combining azurage with Clous de Paris guilloché.

Her name is Catrina. She is one of the very few female incarnations of death in the Mexican Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos). Jaquet Droz has adopted this unusual, exuberant and disruptive character in line with its own approach to master craftsmanship. The result is a unique piece in red gold that exhibits a mastery of micro-painting, paillonné and grand feu enamel, for the benefit of a single collector.
A web of mythology surrounds it. It is not known precisely what year she was born. 1912? 1913? This calavera, the emblematic figure of the Mexican Day of the Dead, seems to have sprung from the imagination of an illustrator. And while the first female calaveras appeared in 1889, it was not until 1930 that this one was given her official name – Catrina. The great lady has spanned the decades with consummate ease. Now, a century later, she has crossed continents to appear at the Jaquet Droz workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
With this unique piece, Jaquet Droz is demonstrating its independence. Not to mention its audacity. By moving away from the masculine clichés of the skull, Catrina offers a neo-romantic vision of the Mexican floral. Contrary to custom, here we see a richly coloured figure surrounded by a wreath of flowers. In keeping with the naturalist spirit that has inspired it for nearly three centuries, Jaquet Droz has appropriated this dazzling floral myth of Mexican culture.
The figure of Catrina occupies the right two thirds of the dial. It’s all about the details: the two whites divided between the face and the smile, with two different levels of contrast, the minute variations in pink and violet, the shades of the gold dots with the two hands in red gold, and the green, sometimes bright and clear, sometimes dark and threatening.
This contrast is underscored by the diversity of craftsmanship on display. Catrina’s head is in micro-paint, but the floral base on the left of the dial is in grand feu enamel. The foliage is hand-engraved on a 1.1 mm thick gold dial. Each leaf has a different depth, and is filled with enamel powder and fired several times.
In this case, the gold dots are not hand-painted, but rather paillons. The technique, which Jaquet Droz has been using for nearly three centuries, consists of capturing tiny hand-chiselled motifs in gold leaf under a thin layer of invisible varnish. In the same spirit, the lightness of the freehand micro-painting contrasts with the watchmaking rigour of the tourbillon visible at 12 o’clock. Within its ocular orbit, it features a high-precision mechanism with an 8-day power reserve. The choice of a flying tourbillon, with no upper bridge, offers a bird’s-eye view of the watch’s regulating organ. This ballet, orchestrated to the micron, offers a precise measurement of time in defiance of Catrina – herself unconcerned with the whole concept – and with a rigour to which she seems oblivious.
On the back, this great lady of Dia de los Muertos asserts her femininity with a final flourish that is only visible to collectors. Its mother-of-pearl oscillating weight is decorated with two gold star appliques edged with multicoloured foliage. Created entirely by hand by Jaquet Droz artists, the Catrina Skull in a 39 mm red gold is a model for a unique collector.
The Legacy Machine 101 (LM101) series was first launched in 2014. With its 40mm case diameter, the LM101 is among the smallest and thinnest of all the Legacy Machines, featuring a nonetheless very three-dimensional movement, regulated by a monumental 14mm “flying” balance wheel that floats above the movement.
As its “101” name implies, the timepiece focuses on the essentials of a mechanical wristwatch: the balance wheel, which regulates precision; the power reserve, showing how much energy remains in the mainspring and when it needs to be wound; and, of course, the display of time itself.
The LM101 movement was the first calibre entirely conceived by MB&F’s in-house engineering team. Award-winning, independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen played a pivotal role in the design and finishing specifications, ensuring that its architecture and 19th century style hand-finishing techniques met the highest standards of traditional haute horlogerie and respected the codes of historical watchmaking.
Over the last decade, the reference has seen many stunning iterations in white, rose and yellow gold, platinum, palladium and stainless steel – along with a plethora of striking dial colours and finishes, each as desirable as the next.
The LM101 is now one of MB&F’s most coveted creations, and over the last few years, collectors and enthusiasts have frequently expressed their desire for an EVO edition. To mark MB&F’s 20th anniversary in 2025, the brand has finally decided to answer this request with the debut of the LM101 EVO – a fitting tribute to two decades of horological artistry and a thank you to the model’s most avid fans.
What is the EVO effect?
The EVO series was introduced in 2020 with the LM Perpetual EVO – an evolution of the award-winning LM Perpetual. This was followed by the LM Split Escapement EVO and the LM Sequential EVO in 2022.
The EVO treatment includes a set of design and engineering enhancements that are applied to certain Legacy Machine models, transforming them into timepieces that are better equipped for everyday wear and an active lifestyle. Key features of the EVO models include a water resistance of 80 metres, a screw-down crown, an integrated rubber strap, and MB&F’s patented FlexRing shock absorber that is fitted between the case and the movement to protect the watch during active use. To further enhance resistance and wearability, the models employ advanced materials such as zirconium and titanium.
In terms of design, the EVO models stand out thanks to their ergonomic case design and integrated strap; but also by forgoing a traditional bezel, offering an unobstructed view of the Super-LumiNova enhanced displays through their domed sapphire crystals. On the movement side, EVO models feature darkened treatments, amplifying their sporty, contemporary aesthetic.
The 20th Anniversary LM101 EVO Editions
In celebration of MB&F’s 20th anniversary in 2025, two LM101 EVO editions are introduced in titanium, available with either a salmon or peacock green dial plate. These dial plate colours are produced using CVD, short for chemical vapor deposition – a technique chosen for its technical advantages as the dial plate forms an integral part of the movement. The peacock green version is particularly captivating as shifting hues of green, blue, and purple light refract across its surface. The salmon version is just as noteworthy as it is a relatively rare colour for MB&F.
Those with a keen eye will also notice a host of new details in these EVO editions. The two black subdials, hovering just about the dial plate, are now framed by finely circled borders. At the top right, the highly legible hours and minutes are displayed by newly designed white gold hands. The power reserve indicator, positioned in the lower subdial, reveals a significant improvement: the power reserve of the LM101 EVO calibre has been increased from the previous 45 hours to 60 hours, in keeping with the sportier theme.
The elegant twin arches suspending the flying balance wheel continue to catch the eye. Milled from a single block of metal, they require many hours of hand finishing to achieve their mirror-like lustre. In this EVO version, they feature a more fluid and refined base, further distinguishing this model from the classic LM101 version. The escapement wheel has also undergone a refined redesign, inspired by the recurring battle-axe motif found in MB&F timepieces.
A Straumann double hairspring and a reliable slipping mainspring barrel are integral features of the manually-wound LM101 EVO movement. New for this LM101 edition is the innovative proprietary FlexRing which comes with the EVO package. Each timepiece is finished with a box sapphire crystal on the back, revealing the beauty of the darkened hand-finished movement beneath. Undulating Geneva waves, hand polished bevels, gold chatons, countersunk blued screws and sensually curved plates and bridges all pay homage to the style found in high quality historic pocket watches and testify to the respect accorded to historical legitimacy.
Completing the look, wearers can choose between a sleek white or grey rubber strap. Although not formally a limited edition, the collection can only be crafted in a limited quantity of a few dozen pieces per year, based on capacity.

“It is essential not to depart from the genuine.” — Louis Moinet
“When we think about measuring time, what is genuine to that art is accuracy, exactness and reliability. This quest for precision guided the work of the great watchmaker Louis Moinet. Today, this quest has found a new echo with the 1806, a chronometer certified by the Geneva Astronomical Observatory. A timepiece that also reminds us that astronomy and watchmaking have been intimately linked for centuries. In fact, it was Louis Moinet’s desire to measure the movement of the stars that paved the way for modern chronometry.” – Jean-Marie Schaller, CEO & Creative Director
A pioneer of chronometry
Louis Moinet dedicated his life and talent to a very ambitious goal: the precise, scientific measurement of time. His invention of the first-ever chronograph ushered in the era of high frequency, achieving a phenomenal rate of 30 Hz, which was essential for measuring the tierce, or 60th of a second. As president of the Chronometric Society in Paris, he brought together the era’s greatest scientists and watchmakers in their shared pursuit of precision. He later crowned his achievements by presenting a chronometer with several important complications at the 1851 Universal Exhibition in London.
Thus, guided by the quest of exact measurement, Louis Moinet laid the foundations of modern chronometry and became its most illustrious pioneer.
The 1806 chronomètre d’Observatoire
Since its founding in 1772, the Geneva Astronomical Observatory has been the historic home of Swiss chronometric certification. It perpetuates the tradition of precision contests that marked the nineteenth century.
The new Louis Moinet timepiece, the 1806, has been certified as an observatory chronometer and is thus a part of that tradition. To obtain this designation, each 1806 movement undergoes fifteen days of trials, during which it is tested in different positions and subjected to various temperature variations. The results of these tests provide proof of the chronometer’s precision and reliability.
Historic roots, contemporary look
Inspired by history’s very first chronograph, the 1806 case draws attention with its understated power. Its Directoire-style semi-bassine silhouette, highlighted by the double gadroon, combines the sobriety of the historical lines with the contemporary lightness of polished and satin-finished grade 5 titanium. The crown, engraved with a fleur-de-lys, pays homage to the French town of Bourges, Louis Moinet’s birthplace.
The rhodium-plated dial seems alive thanks to a subtle interplay of satin and bead-blasted finishes. The classic, highly readable numerals convey the rigour of a genuine scientific instrument. The small seconds dial at nine o’clock in the same bead-blasted decor is offset by a polished circular frame, accentuating the depth and clarity of the display.
The minute chapter is arranged on a peripheral flange with a circular satin finish. It is punctuated by twelve blackened nickel cabochons and four blued steel screws, a crucial detail that further evokes the historical roots of this timepiece.
The 1806 dial showcases how traditional watchmaking fits in with a modern look. Classic elements pay homage to the original: the name Louis Moinet appears in its historic typography, while Chronomètre d’Observatoire is displayed in the same font used for the hour numerals.
The slender, openworked hands in blued steel maintain the visual clarity that defined Louis Moinet’s original timepieces, while their tips, enhanced with modern SLN luminous material, guarantee immediate legibility in any light. The fine seconds hand stands out with its circular openworked counterweight—a detail that bridges historical craftsmanship with contemporary precision. At the dial’s centre, the ruby-set barrel, flanked by two polished screws, adds a technical accent that is both rigorous and refined.
The sapphire crystal caseback reveals an automatic movement certified as an “Observatory chronometer.” Its circular-grained plate serves as a backdrop to the openworked, gilded rotor designed in a purposefully clean, modern, style. As it spins, it reveals the movement’s individual number, guaranteeing authentication and official certification. The four engraved symbols on the caseback represent the company’s core values: exclusivity, creativity, artistry, and design.
As for the bracelet, it was given the name “BRIDGE project.” It is the first grade 5 titanium bracelet by Louis Moinet and takes its name from the distinctive wide links that recall a stylised bridge. It is resolutely contemporary, thanks to a unique design, and was conceived as a seamless extension of the case. Each link seems to flow fluidly into the next, enabling the bracelet to hug the wrist naturally without disrupting the watch’s balance. The alternating satin-finished and polished surfaces create a sculptural ensemble that is both graceful and ergonomic.
1806: The prestigious origin
Louis Moinet creations carry extraordinary stories within them, both through the technical advances they embody and the distinguished personalities for whom they were intended. Some were conceived as exceptional commissions, such as the clock created for Napoleon in 1806—a landmark work whose date now inspires the name of this new timepiece.
To wear the 1806 “Observatory chronometer” is to continue a story that has been evolving for more than two centuries…

Gravée Main marks a new milestone in Louis Erard’s Métiers d’Art series. Hand engraving takes center stage in a limited series of 99 unique timepieces. From case to bezel and from lugs and crown to buckle, every metal element is fully hand-engraved and finished in a demanding
process taking more than 50 hours. Hand engraving brings something machines can’t: uniqueness. Each cut, each curve is done by hand. No two are alike.
Just one artist, one piece of steel. The Gravée Main is art.isanship on the wrist. Tradition, with bite. Craft, with character.
Centuries-old craftsmanship, made wearable and collectible. A timepiece for the few and for those in the know.
“What I love most about these collaborations is how a minimalist watch becomes something completely different at the artist’s hand. Starting from the clean lines of the Noirmont, baroque floral motifs take over the entire object. It’s steel, yet it feels alive. Gravée Main is all about contrast: lavish ornamentation clashing beautifully with pure design. This watch is unique, not just in what it shows, but in what it says. It speaks of time, art, legacy, as well as resilience, the duty to protect and transmit rare crafts. Artistic crafts should be worn, live, and passed on. That’s our mission.” – Manuel Emch

Mission to art
Since 2021, Louis Erard has been pushing the boundaries of Métiers d’Art: Grand Feu enamel, guilloché, wood marquetry, and soon-to-be-launched gold wire inlay. Gravée Main opens a new chapter. A tribute to one of the oldest crafts in watchmaking: hand engraving. Engraving came before watches, born with goldsmiths. By the 18th century, it adorned anything from pocket watches to comtoise clocks. Almost at the same time, swirling Baroque floral motifs flourished. Gravée Main brings both traditions together.
Hand Engraving: the art of depth
The core: the 42mm Noirmont case in stainless steel.
The metal: steel, a material more difficult to engrave by hand due to its greater hardness, its
resistance to scratching and deformation.
The process: 50 hours from first pencil stroke to final polish.
The result: a singular object, impossible to replicate and far beyond what any machine can achieve. Each surface, case, bezel, lugs, crown, buckle, shaped and decorated through a precise multi-step engraving process.
It all begins with design: the artist sketches and refines the pattern, then transfers it freehand or with a stencil. Tools are chosen with care, different burins for different depths. The surface is first drypoint-etched to guide the engraving. Then comes the carving, line by line, millimeter by millimeter, adapting each movement to the shape and contours of the watch.
Once engraved, details, shading and textures are added by hand and eye. The case is cleaned and polished to bring out contrast and depth. Finally, quality control: visual balance is checked, structural integrity tested.
The minimalist architecture of Louis Erard becomes a canvas for centuries-old ornamentation, extending even to the dial. Inspired by baroque clocks, it pairs Roman numerals and pear- shaped rhodium-plated hands in a modern reinterpretation. Intentionally understated, the dial features a glossy black lacquer finish with anthracite and black transferred prints.
The artist behind the metal
Each Gravée Main is engraved by hand in Ukraine by Maksym Shavlak, a watchmaker and artist known for transforming antique timepieces into modern hybrids. Using his tools, he gives new life to steel.
“Case engraving is more than decoration, it’s a way to make metal speak. What began as a series of design exchanges over a year ago became a full creative partnership. Gravée Main is the result. It all started with a meeting, a conversation, a spark of shared vision. I showed Louis Erard what I was doing. They saw something raw and real in my work. They didn’t just want to use engraving as a visual decoration, they wanted to rethink the entire watch around it. Give it space. Let the steel speak.” – Maksym Shavlak
Métiers d’Art. Made accessible
With Gravée Main, Louis Erard once again expands its Métiers d’Art series, following launches in Grand Feu enamel, wood marquetry and guilloché. Two new techniques now make their debut at Geneva Watch Days: Gravée Main (hand engraved) and Fil d’Or (gold wire inlay). In a world where such skills are often reserved for collectors of inaccessible timepieces, Louis Erard continues to build bridges between craft and wearability, tradition and modernity, rarity and reach.

WHERE MYSTERY MEETS MASTERY: A HIGH HOROLOGY COMPLICATION THAT DEFIES PERCEPTION AND REDEFINES ENGINEERING.
The independent Swiss watchmaking Maison Ulysse Nardin unveils the BLAST [FREE WHEEL MAILLECHORT], an exclusive timepiece limited to just 50 pieces. This unconventional horological creation pushes the boundaries of traditional watchmaking, offering a bold fusion of mysterious design and groundbreaking mechanism.
At the heart of this horological masterpiece lies a series of unprecedented flying mechanisms. From the floating double-barrel system to the award-winning Ulysse Anchor Constant Escapement, the BLAST [FREE WHEEL MAILLECHORT] challenges the conventional and elevates precision engineering to new heights. Beneath the ultra-glass box, a dial crafted from Maillechort adds depth, evolving over time into a unique expression of character and craftsmanship.
TECHNOLOGY: FREE-FLOATING MECHANISM
At the heart of this edgy Haute Horlogerie complication, the unique and innovative UN-176 calibre seems to defy not only the laws of physics, but also the very principles of watchmaking construction. Perfecting this flying movement, entirely designed by the integrated Manufacture, required two years of research and development to Ulysse Nardin’s technical department.
The BLAST [FREE WHEEL MAILLECHORT] presents Ulysse Nardin’s award-winning flying tourbillon with the Ulysse Anchor
Constant Escapement. Composed of 45 components, the tourbillon is located at 6 o’clock and boasts a revolutionary constant escapement. Challenging the principle of the traditional anchor escapement, the Ulysse Anchor Constant
Escapement features a circular frame with a pallet fork fixed in the center, supported in space on two blade springs less than a quarter of the thickness of a hair in diameter. Mounted perpendicular to each other, these are subjected to a bending force that curves them and maintains them. This major technical achievement directed by Ulysse Nardin guarantees a perfectly even impulse on the balance wheel, irrespective of the watch’s power reserve. Thanks to silicon technology also incorporated in the hairspring and the escapement, the jewels of the usual escapement-wheel become superfluous, as does the anchor pivot. This exceptional tourbillon, which reflects Ulysse Nardin’s triumphs in terms of innovation, proudly won the Tourbillon Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2015.
At 12 o’clock, a floating double-barrel system is positioned, flying without any visible attachment on the surface. One barrel is fully exposed, while the other operates unseen. Precision ball bearings hold everything in perfect alignment. The energy it accumulates provides the timepiece with an exceptional autonomy of seven days, outlined by a highly original power reserve display at 4 o’clock. The indicator remains static, unlike the display disc: three bands opposing the indicator mean that the watch is fully wound, while a single band indicates that the power reserve is almost empty.
In addition, several additional flying mechanisms are displayed on either side of the barrel: on its left, an intermediate wheel, a power reserve differential, and a reduction gear; on its right, the winding mechanism that connects it to the crown’s winding stem, allowing the selection of the winding system train or the time setting.
DESIGN: A 360° VIEW INTO MECHANICAL MASTERY
The BLAST [FREE WHEEL MAILLECHORT] is a spectacular show. Its bold 45mm case, crafted in white gold, features negative angle facets designed using a complex laser method. Renowned for its disruptive aesthetic and ergonomic properties, this satin-finished and polished BLAST case once again proves the cutting-edge know-how of the independent Manufacture.
The geometric lines feature a unique ultra-glass box in sapphire crystal that offers a wide-open view of the mysterious movement, which is also visible through the sides. The distinctive characteristic of this glass box lies in its construction: it was carved from a single block of sapphire crystal, meticulously hollowed out to form the box and achieve this unparalleled shape.
Beneath the dome glass and the flying mechanism lies a dial crafted from Maillechort, a traditional alloy of copper, zinc, and nickel. Known for its warm, silvery tones and distinctive grained texture, it is prized for its durability and unique aesthetic.
More difficult to manufacture than brass due to its hardness and complex composition, it requires craftsmanship and precision. Historically used in musical instruments for its resonant acoustic properties, Maillechort is a “living metal” that develops a one-of-a-kind patina over time, adding character and depth. This material was invented in the early 19th century by French engineers Maillet and Chorier, whose combined names became “Maillechort”.
Underscoring the meticulous attention to detail in its design, the case back of the BLAST [FREE WHEEL MAILLECHORT] is open, featuring a sapphire glass and a Maillechort plate. This exclusive limited edition of 50 pieces features a blue velvet effect and waterproof rubber strap, with a white gold folding buckle.

In the rarefied world of haute horlogerie, where centuries-old techniques meet radical innovation, Genus Watches has forged a new frontier with the GNS1.2 Dragon. Born from the mind of independent Master Watchmaker Sébastien Billières, the GNS1.2 Dragon redefines what a mechanical watch can be. At first glance, it mesmerizes with its visual spectacle: a gold dragon slithering across the dial in a continuous, hypnotic motion. But this is not merely decorative. The dragon is functional, acting as a dynamic indicator of time.
This watch is not just a timekeeper; it is kinetic art, living mythology, and high-precision engineering encased in 18K gold. It invites its wearer to witness time as an ever-evolving journey rather than a static measurement. The GNS1.2 Dragon stands not only as a watch but as a symbol of imagination, craftsmanship, and storytelling.
Myth Meets Mechanism
Dragons have been revered for centuries, symbolizing strength, wisdom, protection, and spiritual power. In Eastern cultures, they are benevolent forces, while in Western tales, they are fierce guardians of treasure. By incorporating this legendary creature into the very mechanics of timekeeping, Genus bridges mythology with micro-mechanics, bringing an ancient symbol to life in an unprecedented way.
At the heart of the GNS1.2 Dragon is a patented system that deviates from conventional hour and minute hands. The hour is indicated on a peripheral ring, while the tens-of-minutes are displayed by the dragon as it navigates a figure-eight path at the center of the dial. The unit minutes are shown via a rotating disk at 3 o’clock. This display offers not only a functional advantage but also an experiential one, inviting a deeper engagement with the passage of time.
Articulated Perfection
Each dragon is composed of 11 individually hand-sculpted segments made from 18K gold, precisely assembled to allow for fluid movement. These segments are intricately engraved, polished, and connected to form an articulated creature that appears to slither with life across the dial. This level of detail requires masterful skill and patience, elevating the watch into the realm of wearable sculpture.
Creating such a kinetic sculpture involves not only artistic prowess but also technical mastery. The movement—caliber 160W-1.2—is a mechanical marvel composed of 390 meticulously finished components. It operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and provides a robust 50-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through a sapphire caseback, offering a view into the labyrinthine beauty of Genus’ mechanical artistry.
Bespoke Personalization
Understanding the significance of the dragon as a symbol of personal mythology, Genus offers a range of customization options. Collectors can choose from various dragon finishes and colors—from classic yellow gold to fiery red enamel or icy white rhodium plating. The ability to personalize the dragon ensures that no two watches are alike, reinforcing the idea that each GNS1.2 Dragon is a reflection of its owner’s character and story.
Moreover, this approach to personalization reflects the ethos of independent watchmaking: a commitment to uniqueness, craftsmanship, and deep client connection. At this level of horology, owning a watch is akin to commissioning a piece of art.
The Case and Crystal
Encasing this microcosm of mythology and mechanics is a case that reflects both strength and elegance. Measuring 43mm in diameter and 18.8mm in height, the GNS1.2 Dragon strikes a balance between presence and wearability. It is available in both 18K rose gold and 18K white gold, each version offering a distinct personality. The case is topped with a domed sapphire crystal, which amplifies the visual drama of the dragon’s motion and allows light to play across the sculpted surfaces.
Every component of the case is hand-finished to the highest standards, from the polished lugs to the brushed flanks, embodying the meticulous care that goes into the entire timepiece.
Limited Edition Legacy
The GNS1.2 Dragon is not a mass-produced timepiece. Its production is deliberately limited, ensuring that each piece remains exclusive and rare. With a retail price starting at CHF 150,000 (excluding taxes), this watch is clearly positioned for the discerning collector who values mechanical ingenuity and artistic expression in equal measure.
This level of exclusivity is not merely about luxury; it is about preserving the integrity of the craft. In an industry where automation is becoming more prevalent, Genus holds firm to the traditions of hand assembly, manual finishing, and horological artistry.
The Vision of Sébastien Billières
Sébastien Billières, the visionary behind Genus, is no stranger to boundary-pushing watchmaking. With decades of experience and a deep respect for traditional horology, Billières has always sought to explore the emotional and conceptual dimensions of time. His creations are not about complication for its own sake, but about enhancing the human experience of time.
The GNS1.2 Dragon is perhaps his most expressive work to date. It encapsulates his belief that watches can be more than instruments—they can be narratives, sculptures, and emotional touchstones.
A Collector’s Statement
Owning a Genus GNS1.2 Dragon is not just a matter of telling time; it’s a statement of individuality and artistic appreciation. It is a watch for those who seek the extraordinary, who understand the language of mechanics and myth, and who value the poetic potential of horology.
In a world saturated with sameness, the GNS1.2 Dragon is a bold expression of difference. It invites us to view time not as a constraint but as a canvas—a flowing, evolving entity that can be rendered through gold, gears, and imagination.
