Girard-Perregaux High Horology: Cosmos, Neo Constant Escapement & Three Bridges

Girard-Perregaux at the Summit of Haute Horlogerie: Cosmos, Neo Constant Escapement & Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges

Few manufactures embody the union of invention, chronometric ambition and visual poetry quite like Girard-Perregaux. Founded in 1791, the Maison has consistently pushed the boundaries of mechanical watchmaking, not only in pursuit of precision, but also in the way time is architecturally expressed.
In its latest high-horology statements, Girard-Perregaux presents three extraordinary creations that together form a manifesto of its savoir-faire: the Cosmos (Unique Piece), the Neo Constant Escapement, and the Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges. Each explores a different dimension of time — cosmic, constant, and architectural — yet all are unmistakably Girard-Perregaux.

Cosmos: A Mechanical Universe on the Wrist

The Girard-Perregaux Cosmos returns in 2025 as a unique piece, reaffirming the Manufacture’s mastery of complex complications and poetic display. First introduced in 2019, the Cosmos stands apart for its ability to translate astronomical phenomena into three-dimensional mechanical theatre.

At the heart of this titanium-cased timepiece lies three major complications:

  • A tourbillon positioned at six o’clock, housed within a lyre-shaped cage and supported by a titanium Neo Bridge — a contemporary interpretation of Constant Girard’s historic arrow-shaped bridges.

  • A terrestrial globe at three o’clock, rotating once every 24 hours and offering a day/night indication, encircled by an hour ring inspired by Saturn’s rings.

  • A celestial globe at nine o’clock, mapping the Zodiac constellations and completing a rotation in a true sidereal day (23h 56m 4s).

The dial construction is equally evocative: a two-part surface combining Tahitian mother-of-pearl with a reduced-thickness layer of blue aventurine, allowing light to interact with shimmering mineral textures. The off-centred time display, rendered in black with white-gold hands and luminescent accents, ensures legibility amid the cosmic complexity.

Powering the watch is the in-house Calibre GP09320, a hand-wound movement finished to the highest standards, featuring circular graining, bevelled bridges and a power reserve of at least 57 hours. Even the act of winding becomes an experience, thanks to four rotating bows (“bélières”) on the case back, replacing a conventional crown.

The Cosmos is not merely a complication showcase — it is a miniature universe, engineered with scientific precision and poetic intent.

Neo Constant Escapement: Engineering Absolute Stability

If the Cosmos speaks to wonder, the Neo Constant Escapement speaks to control — specifically, the pursuit of constant force, one of watchmaking’s most elusive goals. Building on the award-winning Constant Escapement concept that earned Girard-Perregaux the Aiguille d’Or in 2013, the Neo Constant Escapement represents decades of research distilled into a wearable chronometer.

Central to this innovation is a silicium blade, inspired by the physical phenomenon of buckling. Regardless of how much energy remains in the twin barrels, this blade delivers a perfectly uniform impulse to the balance wheel, ensuring stable amplitude and exceptional rate consistency until the very last moment of power.

The 2025 releases introduce two new executions:

  • A 45 mm pink gold version, combining advanced escapement technology with the warmth and gravitas of a precious metal case.

  • An ultra-limited carbon and silicium composite edition, restricted to just two numbered pieces, offering exceptional lightness, resistance, and a stealthy contemporary aesthetic.

Both are powered by the COSC-certified Calibre GP09200, an in-house hand-wound movement offering an impressive 7-day power reserve. The architecture of the dial places the escapement front and centre, beneath Neo Bridges, transforming mechanical regulation into a visual focal point.

The Neo Constant Escapement is not designed to impress through ornament alone — it is a demonstration of how deep scientific insight can redefine mechanical performance at the highest level.

Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges: Architecture in Light

The Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges is perhaps the most emblematic expression of Girard-Perregaux’s identity. Rooted in the legendary Three Bridges Tourbillon of 1867 and immortalised by La Esmeralda in 1889, the bridges have evolved into a signature where structure and beauty are inseparable.

The latest iteration is housed in a 44 mm white gold case and limited to just eight pieces worldwide. Three black-tinted titanium bridges, more sinuous and contemporary than their 19th-century predecessors, appear to float within a sapphire “box” case that floods the movement with light.

Unlike traditional designs, the watch dispenses with a conventional mainplate. Instead, the bridges themselves provide structural integrity, supporting the gear train, barrel and tourbillon. Luminescent hour markers are mounted directly onto the case, while skeletonised white-gold hands ensure clarity without disrupting the airy, three-dimensional composition.

Inside beats the Calibre GP09400, a self-winding movement with a patented micro-rotor crafted in white gold. Ingeniously positioned beneath the barrel, the micro-rotor allows the movement to remain slim while preserving an unobstructed view of its architecture. With a minimum 60-hour power reserve, it is as technically refined as it is visually captivating.

This is horology as architecture — light, space and mechanics fused into a singular aesthetic statement.

Three Visions, One Manufacture

Together, the Cosmos, Neo Constant Escapement, and Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges illustrate the extraordinary breadth of Girard-Perregaux’s expertise. From cosmic complication to constant-force innovation and architectural transparency, each watch represents a distinct philosophy, yet all share the same foundations: in-house mastery, uncompromising finishing, and a relentless drive to push Haute Horlogerie forward.

These are not merely timepieces — they are mechanical narratives, written by a Manufacture that has been shaping the future of watchmaking for over two centuries.

Favre Leuba Expands the Deep Raider Renaissance Line with Meteorite & Malachite Dials

Favre Leuba introduces two new interpretations of the Deep Raider Renaissance series, spotlighting distinctive natural materials: the Deep Raider Renaissance Meteorite and the
Deep Raider Renaissance Malachite.

These editions mark the first time in the brand’s 288-year history that stone dials have been
used, bringing meteorite and malachite into the collection as expressive and technically
demanding elements. While both models draw aesthetic inspiration from the 1964 Deep
Blue, the Renaissance collection embraces the modern design language established in
2024. Together, these uncommon materials bring visual complexity and material storytelling
into one of the maison’s hallmark collections.

Deep Raider Renaissance Meteorite: A Dial Formed Beyond Earth

The meteorite version brings a new material into Favre Leuba’s history: Muonionalusta iron
meteorite from northern Sweden. Composed of iron and nickel, with kamacite and taenite, it
displays the distinctive Widmanstätten pattern formed over millions of years and revealed
through precise slicing and acid treatment.

Preparing a meteorite for watchmaking is delicate work. Each sample is assessed for
stability before being cut into thin sections, as its high iron content can make it brittle.
Craftsmen carefully finish each plate to preserve its extraterrestrial texture while ensuring
durability. Adding to its complexity, the watch features a two-part sandwich dial. A perforated
top layer sits above a base plate coated in Super-Luminova, allowing light to pour through
the cut-out indexes and creating bright, highly legible hour markers.
Each Deep Raider Renaissance Meteorite timepiece comes with a certificate of authenticity
to ensure that the meteorite used in the timepiece is ethically sourced. No two dials look
alike.

Deep Raider Renaissance Malachite: Natural Patterns With Technical Discipline

The malachite edition highlights the brand’s focus on specialty materials and careful
finishing. The dial is crafted from genuine malachite, a semi-precious mineral known for its
vivid green tones and flowing, concentric patterns. Because every slice of this mineral forms
in irregular layers, each dial carries a one-of-a-kind visual identity. Working with malachite
requires careful handling due to its softness and natural veins.

Favre Leuba selects only stable, visually appealing sections of stone before passing them to
artisans who cut the material into thin plates, reinforce it where necessary, and polish it at
low temperatures to maintain its structural integrity. No two dials look alike.

Engineering The Icon: Craft, Performance & Precision

Both editions share the technical framework of the Deep Raider Renaissance. They adopt a
40 mm stainless-steel case with 300-meter water resistance, a ceramic unidirectional-
rotating bezel, and a sapphire crystal. Inside, the automatic FLD02 movement delivers a 68-
hour power reserve and can be viewed through a transparent caseback. Decorative
elements such as Côtes de Genève finishing, blued screws, and a skeletonized 4N-toned
rotor engraved with the Favre Leuba emblem underscore the attention given to mechanical
design.

With the Malachite and Meteorite models, Favre Leuba continues developing a longstanding
design lineage while exploring dial materials that connect terrestrial geological formations
and cosmic origins.

TAG Heuer Celebrates Ayrton Senna with Two New Formula 1 Chronographs

Celebrating Ayrton Senna, the Swiss watchmaker unveils two special editions that represent the precision, speed, and legacy of both the watchmaker and the legend.

Continuing its homage to one of Formula 1’s most legendary champions, TAG Heuer proudly unveils two new limited-timepieces celebrating the enduring legacy of Ayrton Senna. Launched during the São Paulo Grand Prix, these TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna models write the next chapter in the brand’s historic collaboration with the Senna Brand. Since the first Senna special edition in 1994, the partnership has given life to a series of bold chronographs: from vivid quartz models to a spectacular TAG Heuer Carrera Tourbillon Extreme Sport x Senna, each reflecting a different facet of the driver’s spirit.

This year, the collaboration reaches new heights with two creations that continue this tradition of innovation and tribute. Both watches reflect different facets of Senna’s character: one technical, modern, and daring, the other rooted in classic performance and remarkable style, united under TAG Heuer’s powerful 2025 “Designed to Win” campaign.

A Partnership Written in Watchmaking and Racing History

The connection between TAG Heuer and Ayrton Senna began in 1988, at the very height of the driver’s dominance in Formula 1®. That same year, Senna became World Champion for the first time, marking the start of a new era in motorsport. For TAG Heuer, aligning with the Brazilian icon was more than a sponsorship – it was the beginning of one of the most meaningful ambassador relationships in the watch industry.

Senna officially joined TAG Heuer as an ambassador in 1993 for the 1994 season, choosing the TAG Heuer S/EL chronograph as his watch of choice. With its distinctive S-shaped bracelet and strong ties to racing, the model became forever associated with his name. Over the years, this collaboration has extended beyond the track, transforming into a celebration to Senna’s fearless spirit and uncompromising pursuit of excellence.

But Senna’s legacy, like TAG Heuer’s, is not confined to records or victories. Beyond the racetrack, the partnership has taken on a deeper mission: to create lasting social impact. Through special-edition timepieces, TAG Heuer has proudly supported the Instituto Ayrton Senna, an organization founded by the driver’s family. Since its inception, the institute has helped transform the lives of millions of children and young people across Brazil, providing access to education and opportunities for a brighter future.

Over thirty years after his passing, Senna’s influence still resonates in motorsport, in culture, and in the world of watchmaking.

“Ayrton Senna was not only an extraordinary driver, but a symbol of precision, performance, and passion,” said Antoine Pin, CEO of TAG Heuer. “This new collection captures those qualities with daring design and mechanical mastery. Senna’s spirit continues to inspire us.”

The Bold Expression of Speed and Craftsmanship

Guided by Senna’s fearless spirit and relentless pursuit of excellence, the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna 44mm pushes the partnership further with a dynamic new high-end expression powered by an automatic movement. Its design draws inspiration from Senna’s helmet and his Brazilian identity: a sunray-brushed black dial energized with vivid accents, a 6 o’clock subdial in the colors of the national flag, a 12 o’clock 30-minute chronograph counter with yellow lacquered hand, and a 9 o’clock running seconds counter with yellow “S” logo, while a yellow lacquered central seconds hand sweeps across the dial with powerful precision. New indexes inspired by Formula 1® livery geometry, along with skeletonized black lacquered hour and minute hands, enhance readability and style.

The 44mm case is crafted in lightweight titanium with black DLC coating, a nod to Senna’s fearless approach on the track. The forged carbon bezel, engraved with his recognizable “S” logo at 12 o’clock, highlights cutting- edge materials and engineering. Additional details include a yellow lacquered crown, a yellow ring between the case and bezel, and new shaped pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock, reflecting the watch’s bold technical design. The caseback displays an engraving of Senna’s piercing eyes behind the helmet, a poignant reminder of the man whose gaze captivated the world.

The watch is finished with a striking yellow rubber strap and comes in a custom deep blue packaging box with three stripes and an interior travel pouch reflecting the colors of the iconic Senna’s helmet.

The Timeless Elegance in Motorsport Heritage

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna 43mm, powered by a robust quartz movement, reinterprets the iconic S/EL bracelet the driver wore throughout his career. A signature design from late 1980s that combined ergonomic comfort with sport elegance. Its fluid, interlocking steel links visually recall the style that defined Senna’s racing era.

The 43mm polished and brushed stainless steel case houses a black sunray-brushed dial accented by the same vibrant yellow and green tones from Senna’s Brazilian heritage. The dial features three counters: a 3 o’clock running seconds counter with white accents, a 6 o’clock 10-hour chronograph counter in Brazilian flag-inspired colors with a red lacquered hand, and a 9 o’clock 30-minute chronograph counter with yellow lacquered hand. Printed Arabic numeral indexes and skeletonized black gold-plated polished hour and minute hands, along with a yellow seconds hand, complete the dial’s modern, sporty look.

The black tachymeter bezel with aluminum insert is engraved with “SENNA” and the yellow “S” logo at 12 o’clock, while the DLC-coated crown at 3 o’clock and DLC-coated push-buttons at 2 and 4 o’clock enhance both durability and style. The special engraved steel caseback with an illustration of Senna reinforces the watch’s authenticity. The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna 43mm comes with a folding steel clasp with double safety push- buttons and is presented in a distinctive blue box with a yellow cushion and interior accents, including the yellow ‘S’ logo. Limited to 3,000 pieces, this model is both a radiant celebration of Senna’s life and a timeless collector’s item, offering enthusiasts a complete set of functions – hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph, date, and a secure entry point to the Senna line.

A Legacy that Lives On and Keep Inspiring New Generations

The collaboration between TAG Heuer and the Senna Brand remains the longest running ambassador partnership. This year marks a milestone in the relationship with Bianca Senna, CEO of the Senna Brand and Ayrton’s niece, actively shaping the creative direction of each special-edition model, to ensure every detail reflects Ayrton’s values and spirit. The two new timepieces represent a fusion of family, passion, and purpose in bold watchmaking.

The release also coincides with the recently launched “Designed to Win” campaign. Inspired by Senna’s famous 1990 quote – “I’m not designed to come second or third. I’m designed to win.” – the campaign defines TAG Heuer’s DNA: precision under pressure, resilience in the face of challenge, and an unyielding spirit.

“Continuing our collaboration with TAG Heuer through the Designed to Win campaign feels especially meaningful this year,” – says Bianca Senna, CEO of the Senna Brand. “Ayrton lived with determination, always pushing his limits forward, and purpose — values that continue to guide and inspire us to give our best in everything we do. These timepieces celebrate not only his victories, but the way he faced life — with focus, excellence, resilience, and passion.”

Together, TAG Heuer and the Senna Brand continue to honor Ayrton Senna’s extraordinary legacy, blending innovative watchmaking with the fearless spirit of one of Formula 1’s greatest champions. The new TAG Heuer Formula 1 x Senna timepieces serve as a lasting tribute, inspiring enthusiasts and future generations to embrace excellence, courage, and passion both on and off the track, just like Senna used to do.

Frederique Constant Revives the Vintage Rally Healey

In 2025, the highly anticipated Vintage Rally Healey line – released only once every two years – makes its return not with one, but two distinct models. This unprecedented offering responds to a demand that has remained strong for over 20 years. Collectors continue to appreciate the nod to Healey, a reference to one of the most iconic small racing cars – a quintessentially British exception that has delighted gentleman drivers since 1952. Each model offers unique features: The first edition is more compact at 36 mm, includes a date function on a Healey blue dial, inspired by the metallic blue colour of the Austin-Healey 3000 MKII BM7. The second adds a chronograph housed in a 42 mm case – both of the latter models are limited to 1,888 pieces each.

Three Letters, Three Digits: NOJ393. This was the registration number of the legendary Austin-Healey 100S, purchased in 1969 by an enthusiast of the iconic car. It was born of a collaboration between the Austin Motor Company and driver Donald Healey, who was also its designer. The result was a spirited, sleek machine – truly one of a kind. One of the few remaining original models was the famous NOJ393. With its flawless lines – both fluid and taut – and British racing green livery, it became a classic. And since 2004, Frederique Constant has partnered with the legendary British brand to translate the car’s perfection into the world of watchmaking.

To maintain its tradition of exclusive vintages, Frederique Constant has, of course, retained limited editions. The first of these, produced in 1,888 pieces, features a 36 mm steel case with three hands and a date window – the seconds hand is red, a hallmark of all 2025 models, highlighting their sporty character. As tradition dictates, the caseback is solid and engraved with the silhouette of the Healey.

The dial showcases one of the flagship colours of 2025: Healey blue, inspired by the metallic blue colour of the Austin-Healey 3000 MKII BM7. Frederique Constant has chosen a sunburst finish to reflect the light towards the luminous applied indexes, complemented by a large “12” at twelve o’clock. As with each model, the dial bears the logos of its two proud parents: “Frederique Constant Genève” and “Healey”, in navy blue to match the flange.

The second limited edition, also capped at 1,888 pieces and mounted on a navy blue calfskin strap with contrast stitching, expresses a more assertively sporty identity. Its chronograph is housed in a 42 mm steel case with an open caseback. The watch is dual by nature: two colours (Healey blue dial, navy blue flange), two counters (small seconds at 9 o’clock, 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock), and two pushers.
