Vacheron Constantin Égérie Moon Phase Spring Blossom Debuts in Pink Gold

Vacheron Constantin Égérie Moon Phase Spring Blossom: A Poetic Celebration of Haute Couture and Horology

Swiss luxury watchmaker Vacheron Constantin has unveiled the Égérie Moon Phase Spring Blossom, a limited edition timepiece that captures the fleeting beauty of springtime blossoms through artisanal craftsmanship and refined watchmaking. Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, the new creation combines Haute Horlogerie with the poetic codes of Haute Couture.

Presented in a 37mm 18K 5N pink gold case, the Égérie Moon Phase Spring Blossom features a luminous pink mother-of-pearl dial paired with a hand-painted calfskin strap adorned with delicate floral motifs. The Maison describes this as the first time miniature painting has been applied directly to a watch strap in this manner.

Inspired by the Poetry of Spring

The latest addition to the Égérie collection draws inspiration from the soft pink and white blossoms that define springtime landscapes. The watch embraces an entirely pink palette, with tonal variations enhancing its romantic and feminine aesthetic.

Its moon phase display sits between 1 and 3 o’clock within a diamond-set circular aperture aligned with the winding crown, itself set with a moonstone. Gold moons emerge from mother-of-pearl clouds against a dusky pink sky, adding depth and visual poetry to the composition.

Each piece in the limited edition is subtly unique due to the natural variations of mother-of-pearl and the hand-painted artistry of the strap.

Haute Couture Meets Haute Horlogerie

Since its launch in 2020, the Égérie collection has drawn heavily from the world of Haute Couture, translating textile-inspired details into horological design. Pleated textures on the dial evoke the movement of fabric, while the asymmetrical display and intertwined circles reflect the elegance of couture tailoring.

The Spring Blossom edition deepens this connection through its interchangeable strap system. Alongside the hand-painted calfskin strap, the watch is delivered with two additional options: a shiny raspberry-pink alligator strap and a blush-pink grosgrain fabric strap, each fitted with its own pink gold buckle.

Vacheron Constantin’s Product & Innovation Director, Sandrine Donguy, explained that the project was conceived as a fusion of traditional decorative crafts and modern experimentation. By applying miniature painting to the strap rather than the dial or case, the Maison sought to evolve métiers d’art in new directions while preserving artisanal know-how.

A Floral Legacy Spanning More Than Two Centuries

Flowers have long played a role in Vacheron Constantin’s design language. The Maison traces this botanical inspiration back over 200 years, referencing historical pocket watches and pendant watches embellished with floral engravings, enamel work, pearls, and precious stones.

The influence of Art Nouveau during the early 20th century also played a role in shaping these creations, with organic forms and floral motifs transforming timepieces into wearable works of art.

Awake Unleashes The Deadly Watch

Following the success of the ‘JURASSIC WATCH ’ editions, AWAKE unveils ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’, the second opus of the ‘A Tribute To The Seventh Art  project, which consists of a long-term artistic tribute, through the Métiers d’Art, to the cult films that marked our youth and will always resonate in our adolescent hearts.

‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ is limited to 88 pieces and draws inspiration from the graphic and aesthetic codes of one of Quentin Tarantino’s most iconic films, released in 2003: KILL BILL Vol. 1.

Key points of ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’

– Opus N°2 of the ‘Tribute to 7th Art’ project: ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ pays tribute, through Métiers d’Art, to Quentin Tarantino’s graphic and aesthetic masterpiece, released in 2003: KILL BILL. A limited edition full of details, perfectly in tune with Awake’s creative and unbridled spirit, revisiting this masterpiece of the Seventh Art – €1,650 excluding tax.

– Only 88 ‘crazy’ pieces: which will soon adorn the wrists of watch and film enthusiasts around the world, for whom wearing a watch is a true statement of style and personality. 88 pieces as a nod to the hysterical Yakuza of ‘Crazy 88’ and one of the most iconic fight scenes in modern cinema.

– Unique handcrafted dials: taking inspiration from the graphic and aesthetic codes of the cult film, master lacquer artists have created new colors exclusive to this special edition. Using the ancestral techniques of Vietnamese Sơn Mài lacquer, the dials offer unique brilliance and hues thanks to multiple layers of lacquer and natural pigments. This work combines precision and creativity, is entirely handmade, and requires around ten hours per dial.

– A compendium of details for enthusiasts: from the name of this edition itself, to the colors of the dial, leathers for the strap, Katanas applied at 6 o’clock and engravings on the case back: everything in this ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ edition has been designed and crafted to satisfy the thirst for detail of both watch and film enthusiasts.

– AWAKE luminous signature: Based on a complex and exclusive construction of hour markers and hands coated with Super-LumiNova® BGW9, this limited edition offers a subtle play of light and dark that magnifies the brilliance and reflections of the lacquer, transforming the space between the sapphire crystal and the dial into a veritable chamber of light reflection.

– Handcrafted bracelets: inspired by the famous leather outfit worn by Beatrix Kiddo, the heroine played by actress Uma Thurman.

– Reliability and Accuracy: ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ is equipped with our automatic La Joux-Perret G101 calibre offering 68 hours of power reserve and standing out thanks to its tungsten rotor, custom-designed for AWAKE. The whole is elegantly encircled by a polished and micro blasted ring, engraved with multiple symbols and nods to Quentin Tarantino’s cult film.

THE GOLDEN TICKET

2 of the 88 future owners of a ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ will be drawn at random and win an exact replica of the legendary Japanese sword from ‘The Bride’. Forged, in the film, by Master Hattori Hanzo in his Okinawa forge, this katana embodies the purity of traditional craftsmanship and the relentless determination of its user !

Starting point:

Since the brand was created in 2019, art and cinema have always been at the heart of our approach and are part of a constant desire to push the boundaries of creativity. The brand’s positioning in the fascinating world of Métiers d’Art takes AWAKE’s vision to a whole new level: that of traditions and craft techniques that elevate the craftsman to the rank of artist, part of a cultural heritage whose beauty and poetry we want to pass on.

AWAKE’s ambition is to be a bold and contemporary new approach to exceptional craftsmanship, reinterpreting ancestral techniques to draw out their essence in the service of creativity. For the second time and after the ‘JURASSIC WATCH ’, we put the expertise of our artisans at the service of the 7th Art, to pay tribute to movies that shaped our childhood, marked our adolescence and nourished our imagination and creativity!

Reminiscence, you’ve got us.. again !

‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ is a collaborative project, peppered with references, bringing together craftsmen and technicians to offer you an artistic and horological interpretation of a film that left its mark on millions of viewers in the 2000s. This highly exclusive edition is inspired by the multiple film genres that KILL BILL explores – kung fu movies, gore, epic films, spaghetti westerns and anime – and appeals to both the watch enthusiast and the film fan in us, allowing us to delve into the past and stir our nostalgia!

Our master lacquerers made countless attempts to mix pigments and reinterpret, within the tiny space of our dials, the graphic and aesthetic codes of Q.Tarantino’s cult film, this edition pays tribute to. An exclusive and, it must be said, a bit crazy edition to celebrate in our own way a masterpiece of cinema that tackles themes of revenge and personal justice, betrayal and loyalty, power and female autonomy, ethics and morality.

‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ in detail:

The name of this limited edition ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ is a first nod to the team of assassins working for the cruel Bill, who is relentlessly pursued by the heroine Beatrix Kiddo: The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad ! A ‘deadly’ name for a truly badass watch that features a dial crafted entirely by hand in our Hanoi workshops, using traditional Vietnamese Sơn Mài lacquer techniques. Its unique colors, inspired by the aesthetic codes of the film KILL BILL and the world of Q.Tarantino in general are obtained from organic materials and create an intense ensemble with striking reflections and powerful symbolism:

– Yellow: is associated here with happiness, energy and purity of the soul. All these things were torn away from the heroine Beatrix Kiddo, plunging her into a blind quest for vengeance.

– Red: is associated with danger, anger, revenge, the heroine’s extreme passions, whether love or hate, and of course blood. Our master lacquerers came to smear the dial by hand with small splashes of blood using red pigmented lacquer.

– Black: on the dial’s outer rim refers to the overall atmosphere of the film, the smell of gunpowder lingering in the air after the initial shootout, the absence of light in Beatrix Kiddo’s heart, and the mystery surrounding her character, also known as ‘Black Mamba’.

– The AWAKE logo is stamped in black pad printing to contrast with the yellow of the dial, and uses a ‘Western’ font, a recurring feature in Tarantino’s works and inspired by a genre dear to the American director: the ‘spaghetti western’.

– at 6 o’clock: another applique, also in pad printing, refers to the two iconic katanas used by Bill and « The Bride » and takes us back to the cult scene in the Okinawa forge, where Hattori Hanzo agrees to come out of retirement to forge a blade ‘destined to kill Bill’, embodying the purity of traditional craftsmanship and the relentless determination of its user.

A case back full of details:

‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ is equipped with our La Joux-Perret G101 automatic calibre, a guarantee of excellence and performance offering 68 hours of power reserve, distinguished by its tungsten rotor featuring elegant contrasts between recessed and raised surfaces, and refined finishing techniques. The whole is encircled by a ring with polished and micro-bead-blasted finishes and engraved with multiple details that will delight both watch enthusiasts and film lovers :

  – The name of this edition ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ as well as the brand’s motto ‘Artisanship, Awakened’ are engraved at 12 and 6 o’clock respectively, in a ‘Western Spaghetti’ font, inspired by a genre dear to Q. Tarantino and omnipresent in his cinematography, echoing the logo on the dial.

– The quotation “I’m gonna kill Bill” borrowed from the strong and independent heroine Beatrix Kiddo, who is betrayed and left for dead, then embarks on a quest for vengeance to regain control of her life, is subtly engraved at 9 o’clock.

– The numbering of this edition: for even more fun, we have chosen to number 88 copies and precede the number with the word ‘Crazy’! A playful nod to the ‘Crazy 88’ wearing black masks and black suits typical of the Yakuza.

– Finally, we also engraved four M16 bullets, recalling the film’s opening shootout in a small chapel lost in the middle of the desert. Only ‘The Bride’ survives her injuries and has only one goal: to take revenge !

Handmade straps inspired by The Bride’s outfit :

Handcrafted by master saddlers at Bouveret in Franche-Comté, France, the straps used on ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ are inspired by the famous yellow and black leather outfit worn by the heroine Beatrix Kiddo, itself inspired by Bruce Lee’s cult films, dear to Q. Tarantino. For the sake of realism, we have selected a supple, durable, fine-grained matte black Barenia calfskin leather and paired it with a yellow calfskin lining – yellow topstitching on the top and red on the bottom. Each strap requires 60 steps to ensure comfort and durability. Equipped with ‘presto’ pumps and mounted on our hollow pin buckle made from recycled 316L steel. Dimensions: 115×70 or 115×80 / 20x16mm.

GOLDEN TICKET:

In KILL BILL, Quentin Tarantino pays tribute to Japanese sword cinema by featuring a katana forged by the legendary Hattori Hanzo. This sword, wielded by the heroine, becomes the symbol of her quest for vengeance. To prolong the pleasure of this limited edition and play the nostalgia card to the full, two of the 88 owners of a copy of ‘THE DEADLY WATCH’ will be randomly selected and will win an exact replica of the legendary Japanese sword from ‘The Bride’: Maru 1045 sharpened & engraved steel blade – Sharkskin & black synthetic leather handle – Laser-cut, blackened metal guard – Lacquered and gilded wooden scabbard.

LOUIS ERARD GRAVÉE MAIN

Gravée Main marks a new milestone in Louis Erard’s Métiers d’Art series. Hand engraving takes center stage in a limited series of 99 unique timepieces. From case to bezel and from lugs and crown to buckle, every metal element is fully hand-engraved and finished in a demanding
process taking more than 50 hours. Hand engraving brings something machines can’t: uniqueness. Each cut, each curve is done by hand. No two are alike.

Just one artist, one piece of steel. The Gravée Main is art.isanship on the wrist. Tradition, with bite. Craft, with character.

Centuries-old craftsmanship, made wearable and collectible. A timepiece for the few and for those in the know.

“What I love most about these collaborations is how a minimalist watch becomes something completely different at the artist’s hand. Starting from the clean lines of the Noirmont, baroque floral motifs take over the entire object. It’s steel, yet it feels alive. Gravée Main is all about contrast: lavish ornamentation clashing beautifully with pure design. This watch is unique, not just in what it shows, but in what it says. It speaks of time, art, legacy, as well as resilience, the duty to protect and transmit rare crafts. Artistic crafts should be worn, live, and passed on. That’s our mission.” – Manuel Emch

Watch facts that matter

– Limited edition: 99 unique timepieces, each entirely hand engraved.
– Case: 42mm Noirmont in stainless steel, engraved over 50 hours of work.
– Technique: Traditional hand engraving using burins, drypoints, hand shading. Entire case, lugs, crown, bezel and buckle engraved; no two alike
– Design: Inspired by 18th century baroque floral motifs
– Dial: Polished black lacquer glossy anthracite and black transfers, rhodium-finished pear-shaped hands

Mission to art

Since 2021, Louis Erard has been pushing the boundaries of Métiers d’Art: Grand Feu enamel, guilloché, wood marquetry, and soon-to-be-launched gold wire inlay. Gravée Main opens a new chapter. A tribute to one of the oldest crafts in watchmaking: hand engraving. Engraving came before watches, born with goldsmiths. By the 18th century, it adorned anything from pocket watches to comtoise clocks. Almost at the same time, swirling Baroque floral motifs flourished. Gravée Main brings both traditions together.

Hand Engraving: the art of depth

The core: the 42mm Noirmont case in stainless steel.

The metal: steel, a material more difficult to engrave by hand due to its greater hardness, its
resistance to scratching and deformation.

The process: 50 hours from first pencil stroke to final polish.

The result: a singular object, impossible to replicate and far beyond what any machine can achieve. Each surface, case, bezel, lugs, crown, buckle, shaped and decorated through a precise multi-step engraving process.

It all begins with design: the artist sketches and refines the pattern, then transfers it freehand or with a stencil. Tools are chosen with care, different burins for different depths. The surface is first drypoint-etched to guide the engraving. Then comes the carving, line by line, millimeter by millimeter, adapting each movement to the shape and contours of the watch.

Once engraved, details, shading and textures are added by hand and eye. The case is cleaned and polished to bring out contrast and depth. Finally, quality control: visual balance is checked, structural integrity tested.

The minimalist architecture of Louis Erard becomes a canvas for centuries-old ornamentation, extending even to the dial. Inspired by baroque clocks, it pairs Roman numerals and pear- shaped rhodium-plated hands in a modern reinterpretation. Intentionally understated, the dial features a glossy black lacquer finish with anthracite and black transferred prints.

The artist behind the metal

Each Gravée Main is engraved by hand in Ukraine by Maksym Shavlak, a watchmaker and artist known for transforming antique timepieces into modern hybrids. Using his tools, he gives new life to steel.

“Case engraving is more than decoration, it’s a way to make metal speak. What began as a series of design exchanges over a year ago became a full creative partnership. Gravée Main is the result. It all started with a meeting, a conversation, a spark of shared vision. I showed Louis Erard what I was doing. They saw something raw and real in my work. They didn’t just want to use engraving as a visual decoration, they wanted to rethink the entire watch around it. Give it space. Let the steel speak.” – Maksym Shavlak

Métiers d’Art. Made accessible

With Gravée Main, Louis Erard once again expands its Métiers d’Art series, following launches in Grand Feu enamel, wood marquetry and guilloché. Two new techniques now make their debut at Geneva Watch Days: Gravée Main (hand engraved) and Fil d’Or (gold wire inlay). In a world where such skills are often reserved for collectors of inaccessible timepieces, Louis Erard continues to build bridges between craft and wearability, tradition and modernity, rarity and reach.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Shooting Star

In 2022, the watchmakers of Jaeger-LeCoultre created an intriguing and remarkable new watchmaking complication introduced for the Rendez-Vous collection: the Shooting Star. Now, in 2025, the Maison presents a new interpretation of this romantic and feminine complication, featuring intricately hand-painted peonies on the dial.

INSPIRED BY THE MYSTERY OF THE NIGHT SKY

Watchmakers have always been fascinated by the night sky, not only for its beauty but also because the regular movements of the stars and planets are the foundation of how we measure time. However, unlike these regular astronomical events, shooting stars are completely random and ephemeral – making them the most romantic and mysterious of all celestial phenomena. Not technically stars but rocky debris that burns brightly on hitting Earth’s atmosphere, they are visible only at certain times of year and under the right conditions, their light streaking across the night sky and disappearing in the blink of an eye. These rare phenomena have captivated mankind since the dawn of time – and inspired the watchmakers of Jaeger-LeCoultre to translate their ethereal magic into a timepiece.

In keeping with the Maison’s deep legacy in developing astronomical complications, its watchmakers were also inspired by the challenge of creating a completely new celestial complication, conceiving, developing and producing the new mechanism entirely within the Manufacture. Activated by the movement of the wrist, the shooting star appears on the dial at random moments.

ARTISTIC CRAFTS AMPLIFY THE MAGIC OF SHOOTING STARS

The Rendez-Vous Shooting Star is presented in two enchanting variations, both cased in 18k pink gold (750/1000). As a canvas for the skills nurtured in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s in-house Atelier des Métiers Rares™, the dial is a complex structure of three superimposed discs. Made of transparent sapphire glass, the uppermost of the three layers has been hand-painted in lacquer with lush peony blooms, which conceal the shooting star when it is inactive. The process begins with a delicate yet decisive step: drawing all the outlines freehand, guided by the artist’s interpretation of the design.

The intricate process of miniature painting then continues with the foliage, which is painted in mirror image on the reverse side of the disc. Once completed, the disc is turned over to paint the flowers on the front. Using nine different shades of lacquer for the pink peonies and 12 shades for the blue, the dials must be painted in a single, uninterrupted session because the lacquer dries very quickly. For the artist, there are no second chances and no margin for error. Adding to the challenge, the artisans work in anti-static gowns and full protective gear to ensure the piece remains completely free of foreign particles. Even the slightest contamination means starting over. Throughout, the sapphire crystal must stay perfectly clean — despite prior steps such as setting the dial — preserving the integrity of the final creation. The painting on both sides of the dial adds depth to the design, while the intricate detail of the flowers and delicate rendering of the petals creates an almost photo-realistic effect.

Set beneath the sapphire dial, the second layer is a rotating disc of mother-of-pearl, which has been airbrushed with multiple layers and different shades of blue to create the effect of a starry sky. The soft glow of the mother-of-pearl creates subtle colour variations and adds to the visual depth. On one side of this disc is a laser cut-out of a shooting star silhouette. When activated, the disc spins and, as its path curves across the upper part of the dial, the cut-out reveals the third layer – a fixed disc of silvery metal with a glowing gradient finish – creating the optical illusion of a flash of light across the sky.

Defining the trajectory of the shooting star, a three-quarter circle of diamonds is set into the sapphire glass dial. The bezel is set with a circle of brilliant-cut diamonds that draw the eye towards the dial and, in keeping with the aesthetic codes of the Rendez-Vous, the upper surfaces of the lugs, and the top of the crown are also diamond-set. The pink peony model features a fully diamond-set pink gold bracelet, with a total of 625 brilliant-cut diamonds and approximately 6.31 carats across the entire watch. The blue peony variation, paired with a shiny blue alligator leather strap, includes 189 brilliant-cut diamonds set on the case and dial, totalling around 1.47 carats for the whole timepiece.

A REMARKABLE WATCHMAKING COMPLICATION

To create a mechanism that expresses an unpredictable phenomenon is a fascinating challenge for watchmaking as it appears to defy the laws of horology – a world where everything is expressed through precisely calibrated, mathematical rhythms.

Drawing on more than 190 years of expertise accumulated within the Manufacture, the engineers and watchmakers of Jaeger-LeCoultre developed the in-house automatic calibre 734, comprising 335 individual parts, incorporating the shooting star mechanism. In doing so, they have succeeded in a remarkable feat of capturing a random cosmic phenomenon in a watchmaking complication.

Combining technical mastery with La Grande Maison’s artistic sensibility, the Rendez-Vous Shooting Star reimagines the magic of the night sky. Almost 500 stars form this celestial scene – not painted, but precisely applied as transfers on the dial of the peonies’ variations, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail behind each creation. The choice of peonies – a flower that epitomises femininity with its lush yet delicate form, and, in many cultures is a symbol of prosperity, abundance and enlightenment – amplifies the romance and beauty of watchmaking complication like no other.
