Bvlgari Tubogas Gold & Steel Watches: Roman Glamour in Motion

Some watch designs tell time. Others become part of fashion history.

The Bvlgari Serpenti Tubogas and Bulgari Tubogas creations belong firmly in the latter category. With the Gold & Steel universe, Bvlgari revisits one of its most iconic design signatures — blending precious yellow gold with industrial steel in a way only the Roman maison can.

The result is bold, fluid, sensual, and unmistakably Bulgari.

The Story Behind Tubogas

Tubogas is one of Bulgari’s most recognizable design techniques, inspired by the flexible gas pipes used in industrial and architectural engineering during the early 20th century.

What makes the construction remarkable is its seamless coil-like structure. The bracelet wraps around the wrist with extraordinary flexibility and comfort, achieved without traditional soldering techniques.

Over time, Tubogas evolved from an industrial inspiration into a defining Bulgari aesthetic — transforming rigid metal into something fluid, sculptural, and almost alive.

Today, it remains one of the strongest expressions of the maison’s ability to merge jewellery craftsmanship with watchmaking design.

Gold & Steel: A Perfect Tubogas Combination

The Gold & Steel executions elevate the Tubogas concept even further.

By combining polished stainless steel with warm yellow gold, Bulgari creates dramatic contrast across the flowing coils of the bracelet. The alternating metals amplify the architectural curves while adding depth, texture, and visual rhythm to the design.

The beauty of Tubogas lies in this tension:

  • Industrial yet luxurious
  • Bold yet elegant
  • Vintage-inspired yet thoroughly modern

Rather than feeling like a traditional two-tone watch, the Gold & Steel Tubogas pieces feel like wearable sculpture.

The steel gives the watch everyday versatility and contemporary edge, while gold introduces richness and unmistakable Roman glamour.

The Serpenti Tubogas Identity

Few watches are as instantly recognizable as the Serpenti Tubogas.

Inspired by the serpent — a long-standing symbol of transformation and seduction — the watch coils naturally around the wrist like a living form. The Tubogas bracelet enhances this fluidity, creating an almost organic presence despite the precision of its metal construction.

In Gold & Steel versions, the contrast between polished gold and steel gives the serpent-inspired silhouette even greater presence.

It is jewellery.
It is watchmaking.
It is fashion.
And it remains one of the most iconic creations in modern luxury design.

Why Tubogas Still Feels Contemporary

Many heritage watch designs struggle to remain relevant decades later. Tubogas does the opposite.

Its sculptural form feels perfectly aligned with today’s luxury landscape, where collectors increasingly appreciate strong design identity over traditional conservatism.

The Gold & Steel aesthetic also makes the watch more versatile:

  • Easier to style daily than full gold
  • More elevated than pure steel
  • Distinctive without being excessive

This balance is precisely why mixed-metal luxury watches continue gaining popularity among modern collectors.

But Bvlgari’s interpretation feels different because Tubogas was never designed to follow trends. It was created to challenge conventions from the beginning.

Every curve of the bracelet reflects movement.
Every polished surface catches light differently.
Every coil reinforces the watch’s sculptural identity.

The Gold & Steel Tubogas creations are not minimalist watches designed to disappear.

They are designed to be seen.

And decades after their debut, they remain among the boldest expressions of jewellery-watchmaking ever created.

BVLGARI at LVMH Watch Week 2026: When Gold Becomes a Language of Time

At LVMH Watch Week 2026, BVLGARI did not simply present new watches—it reaffirmed its singular position as a Maison where Roman jewellery heritage and Swiss mechanical mastery coexist in perfect harmony. Under the unifying theme Art of Gold, BVLGARI’s latest creations explore gold not merely as a precious metal, but as a medium of expression—shaped, woven, engraved, and animated by in-house movements of extraordinary refinement.

More than a showcase of novelties, BVLGARI’s presentation unfolded as a coherent narrative: one that links antiquity and modernity, femininity and mechanics, artistry and innovation.

Art of Gold: A Roman Soul, Reimagined

Gold has always been central to BVLGARI’s identity. Rooted in Rome—where gold symbolised power, eternity, and beauty—the Maison continues to reinterpret this legacy through contemporary forms. At LVMH Watch Week 2026, four emblematic collections carried this vision forward: Monete, Tubogas, Serpenti, and Lvcea.

Each collection revisits a historic BVLGARI code, yet none feel archival. Instead, they reflect a modern sensibility—fluid, architectural, and unapologetically bold—underscoring BVLGARI’s ability to evolve without dilution of identity.

Maglia Milanese Monete: Antiquity Meets Milanese Craft

The Maglia Milanese Monete Secret Watch stands as one of the most poetic expressions of the Maison’s philosophy. Anchored by an authentic ancient Roman coin depicting Emperor Caracalla, the watch bridges millennia—transforming history into a wearable object of art.

For the first time, BVLGARI explores Milanese mesh in its purest form. Crafted from interlaced rose-gold threads, the bracelet flows with remarkable suppleness, echoing Renaissance goldsmithing traditions while feeling entirely contemporary. Beneath the sculptural exterior lies the ultra-compact Piccolissimo BVP100 calibre—designed, developed, and produced entirely in-house—proving that technical virtuosity can exist even in the most intimate dimensions.

Tubogas Manchette: Chromatic Power and Seventies Geometry

Few jewellery-watch designs are as unmistakably BVLGARI as Tubogas. First introduced in the 1940s and embraced fully in the 1970s, Tubogas returns in 2026 with renewed intensity through the Tubogas Manchette.

This sculptural cuff watch is a celebration of colour, volume, and confidence. Yellow gold coils are illuminated by nearly 12 carats of diamonds and a vibrant spectrum of gemstones—citrines, rubellites, peridots, amethysts, topazes, and spessartites—set against a square pavé-diamond dial.

Powering this radiant creation is the Lady Solotempo Automatic BVS100, a fully in-house movement that reinforces BVLGARI’s commitment to mechanical legitimacy in jewellery watchmaking. The result is a watch that feels as powerful as it looks—where glamour and horology share equal footing.

Serpenti Seduttori Automatic: The Evolution of an Icon

Serpenti is not merely a collection—it is a signature. Since its first mechanical incarnation in 1948, the serpent has embodied transformation, sensuality, and strength. In 2026, the Serpenti Seduttori Automatic continues this lineage with two distinct expressions of femininity.

One version features a deep green malachite dial, celebrating BVLGARI’s long-standing relationship with hardstones. The other elevates preciousness through a diamond-set bracelet that transforms the watch into a jewel of light and movement. Both are powered by the Lady Solotempo Automatic movement, seamlessly integrated into Serpenti’s sinuous, scale-like bracelet.

These creations reaffirm Serpenti’s status as an evolving icon—timeless yet never static.

Lvcea Notte di Luce: Light, Art, and Time

Perhaps the most artistic expression of the collection emerges in Lvcea Notte di Luce, born from a rare collaboration between BVLGARI and Japanese Urushi master Yasuhiro Asai.

Using ancestral lacquer techniques and the intricate Raden method—where fragments of mother-of-pearl are embedded into deep black lacquer—each dial becomes a miniature cosmos of light. No two are alike. Each requires nearly sixty days of meticulous craftsmanship, resulting in a limited-edition creation imbued with individuality and soul.

Lvcea Notte di Luce is more than a watch; it is a meditation on time, patience, and luminosity—where Swiss mechanics support a dial that feels almost celestial.

A Unified Vision at LVMH Watch Week 2026

At LVMH Watch Week 2026, BVLGARI delivered more than novelties—it delivered coherence. Each watch, each movement, each material choice contributed to a single, articulate vision: that true luxury lies in the dialogue between heritage and innovation.

Gold, in BVLGARI’s hands, becomes more than a material. It becomes memory, movement, and meaning.

Final Thoughts

GPHG 2025 showcased a brilliant mix of heritage maisons, bold independents and artistic explorations that pushed horology to new heights. Whether through extreme thinness, imaginative architecture or the revival of ancient crafts, this year’s winners prove that watchmaking is more alive, creative and emotional than ever.

Bvlgari at Geneva Watch Days 2025: When Thinness, Art, and Time Collide

Every September, Geneva comes alive with a different kind of energy. Instead of the closed, high-walled watch fairs of old, Geneva Watch Days spills into the city’s boutiques, riverside pavilions, and galleries. It feels more like a festival than a trade show—one where collectors, journalists, and curious passersby all share the same stage.

In 2025, few brands captured that spirit better than Bvlgari. The Roman jeweller-turned-watchmaker has spent the past decade redefining what modern horology can look like, and this year, its spotlight once again shone on the Octo Finissimo.

What began as a daringly thin wristwatch over ten years ago has now grown into a whole world of experimentation. And at Geneva Watch Days, Bvlgari unveiled three very different but equally compelling takes on its philosophy: one rooted in art, another in nature, and the third in time itself.

Octo Finissimo Lee Ufan × Bvlgari – Minimalism With a Soul

One of the fair’s most talked-about watches was Bvlgari’s collaboration with Lee Ufan, the Korean-Japanese artist known for his contemplative works that balance stillness and space.

At first glance, the watch’s mirrored dial looks almost simple. But like Ufan’s art, it asks you to slow down. The reflection turns every glance into a dialogue—between presence and absence, light and shadow, permanence and fragility.

The titanium case keeps things featherlight, while the ultra-thin micro-rotor movement inside reminds us that this is still a serious piece of horology. Produced in just 150 pieces, it’s less of a wristwatch and more of a wearable artwork—one that lives at the intersection of philosophy and precision.

Octo Finissimo Marble Tourbillon – Nature on the Wrist

If the Ufan collaboration was about reflection, the Marble Tourbillon was about permanence. Bvlgari dared to carve a dial from deep-blue Italian marble, a material as stubborn as it is beautiful. To thin it down enough for a watch dial without losing its character is a feat in itself.

Framed by a platinum case and powered by a hand-wound flying tourbillon, the watch looks like a slice of earth frozen in time. On the wrist, it feels less like jewellery and more like sculpture—quietly powerful, endlessly fascinating. Limited to just 30 pieces, it’s destined to be one of the most coveted watches from the entire fair.

Bvlgari Aluminium Bronzo – Watches That Evolve With You

While the Octo Finissimo grabbed headlines, Bvlgari also surprised collectors by giving its sporty Aluminium line a new twist: bronze.

Two models joined the family:

A Bronzo Chronograph with bold racing-style sub-dials and a rugged, sandblasted bronze case.

A Bronzo GMT, built for travellers, with a clean 24-hour scale and dual-time functionality.

The beauty of bronze lies in its changeability. Over time, it develops a patina unique to its wearer—no two watches will age the same way. In a world where luxury often feels polished to perfection, the Bronzo celebrates imperfection as a form of individuality.

Why These Watches Matter

Bvlgari’s Geneva Watch Days 2025 novelties aren’t just new models—they’re statements.

Form: The Octo Finissimo continues to lead the ultra-thin category, proving less really can be more.

Material: Marble and bronze push watchmaking into fresh, tactile territory.

Culture: Collaborations with artists like Lee Ufan remind us that watches can carry ideas as much as they carry hours.

Together, they show that Bvlgari isn’t just making timepieces—it’s exploring time itself.

Eleven Years of Record-Breaking Innovation

Alongside these novelties, Bvlgari also took time to reflect on the Octo Finissimo’s journey. At Geneva Watch Days 2025, the Maison presented its first full retrospective of the collection—an exhibition charting eleven years of relentless innovation and ten world records.

The Octo Finissimo is as much about architecture as it is about mechanics. Its octagonal case was inspired by the Basilica of Maxentius in Rome, translating Roman geometry into a contemporary design language. Over the past decade, this architecture has become the canvas for groundbreaking engineering and creative collaborations alike.

Key Milestones

2014 — The Beginning: The Octo Finissimo Tourbillon introduced the ultra-slim BVL 268 calibre, measuring just 1.95mm, setting the stage for record-breaking thinness.

2017 — Everyday Icon: The Octo Finissimo Automatic debuted at 5.15mm thick, proving ultra-thin could be practical, elegant, and wearable.

2021 — A Crown Achievement: The Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar in titanium not only claimed the record as the thinnest perpetual calendar at 5.80mm, but also won the Aiguille d’Or at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

2025 — Breaking Limits Again: This year, the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon, unveiled at Watches and Wonders, stunned with a case just 1.85mm thick—a technical feat that almost defies belief.

The retrospective made one thing clear: the Octo Finissimo is more than a collection. It’s a statement of intent—Bvlgari’s relentless drive to push design, engineering, and artistry beyond the imaginable.

Final Thoughts

Walking away from Bvlgari’s showcase this year, one thing was clear: these aren’t watches that quietly tick in the background. They’re meant to start conversations, to spark curiosity, to evolve with you.

Whether it’s the reflective stillness of the Lee Ufan edition, the sculptural presence of the Marble Tourbillon, or the ever-changing Bronzo Aluminium, Bvlgari has given collectors pieces that feel alive.

For anyone who believes a watch should tell more than the time, Bvlgari’s 2025 lineup is proof that horology can be as poetic as it is precise.

The Rise of the Indian Female Watch Collector: Capturing Minds, Hearts, and Market Share

The landscape of luxury watchmaking in India is experiencing a seismic shift. What was once considered a gentleman’s domain is now witnessing unprecedented female participation, with women emerging not just as buyers, but as discerning collectors and brand ambassadors. This evolution presents challenges and golden opportunities for luxury brands seeking to capture this dynamic market segment.

The Numbers Don’t Lie: A Market in Transformation

The demographic transformation driving India’s luxury watch market is nothing short of remarkable. India’s luxury goods market, valued at USD 10.01 billion in 2024, is projected to reach USD 17.94 billion by 2033—representing a robust 6.37% CAGR (IMARC Group, 2024). What makes this growth particularly compelling is its composition: women now account for 53.9% of India’s luxury market share, fundamentally reshaping how brands approach this demographic (IMARC Group, 2024).

The statistics paint a compelling picture when you turn towards the watch industry for women in India. Female labour force participation has nearly doubled from 23.3% in 2017-18 to 41.7% in 2023-24 (Periodic Labour Force Survey, Government of India), creating a new class of economically empowered women who view luxury timepieces as both professional accessories and investment assets. While 28% of luxury watches sold globally are purchased for women (Deloitte Swiss Watch Industry Study, 2024), brands like Jaeger-LeCoultre command a striking 24% share of their overall sales in India from female consumers. This gap—four percentage points below the global average—represents untapped potential worth millions in revenue for luxury maisons.

This disparity signals a massive opportunity: India’s female luxury consumers are ready to spend, but brands haven’t fully adapted their strategies to capture this sophisticated demographic.

What’s driving this trend? The answer lies in understanding the unique preferences, aspirations, and cultural context of Indian women in luxury consumption. Unlike their global counterparts, Indian female watch enthusiasts often seek pieces that seamlessly transition from boardroom to ballroom, embodying both professional success and personal style.

Strategic Brand Movements: The New Wave of Female-Focused Initiatives

Piaget’s Celebrity-Driven India Strategy

Piaget, one of the most iconic watchmakers of the past century, is making calculated moves to enter the Indian market later this year with a focus on celebrity endorsements and haute horlogerie pieces that blur the lines between timepieces and jewelry. Their strategy recognizes that Indian women appreciate watches as fashion statements—sculptural pieces that tell stories of achievement and aesthetic sensibility.

Piaget’s Sixtie collection of watches for women reinterprets the brand’s 1960s designs with a modern twist. The collection features a trapeze-shaped watch with a supple bracelet, blending geometric design with precious metals. The name also suggests a connection to the 1960s, a period when Piaget was known for its ultra-thin movements and bold designs.

Van Cleef & Arpels: The Poetry of Time Arrives

Van Cleef & Arpels is planning to enter the Indian market soon, bringing its “Poetry of Time” philosophy to a market hungry for narrative-driven luxury.

At Watches & Wonders 2025, Van Cleef & Arpels unveiled four new Pont des Amoureux variations featuring precious bracelets with diamonds and sapphires, capturing dawn, morning, dusk, and moonlight—time told through the poetry of love (Van Cleef & Arpels Press Release, April 2025). The maison also introduced the Lady Arpels Bal des Amoureux Automate, where lovers meet and kiss at noon and midnight beneath a starlit Parisian sky. These romantic narratives resonate deeply with Indian sensibilities, echoing the brand’s historic connection to India through legendary patrons like Sita Devi, the Maharani of Baroda, whose 1950s collaborations with Jacques Arpels created iconic pieces using emeralds from the Baroda royal treasure.

Cartier: The Crown Jewel’s Dominance

Cartier continues to outperform its Richemont siblings for the second consecutive year, posting robust growth while other luxury watch brands face sluggish performance (Richemont Q3 2024 Financial Report). This success stems from Cartier’s jewelry-forward approach to watchmaking—a strategy that resonates powerfully with Indian women who view luxury timepieces as extensions of their jewelry collections rather than purely functional accessories.

This trend signals a broader industry truth: jewelry-focused watch brands are thriving in markets where women drive luxury consumption. The lesson for other maisons is clear—technical prowess alone isn’t enough; emotional connection through design and heritage storytelling becomes paramount.

Digital Disruption Meets Traditional Craftsmanship

The rise of social media influence cannot be ignored. Indian women are increasingly discovering luxury watches through digital platforms, with online retail growing at double digits in the luxury segment (Bain & Company Luxury Report India, 2024). Brands must master the art of storytelling across both digital and physical touchpoints, creating immersive experiences that translate craftsmanship into compelling narratives.

Five Exceptional Women’s Watches Deserving Recognition

Van Cleef & Arpels Cadenas

Heritage: Created in 1935, embodying the maison’s jewelry savoir-faire.

Why It Deserves Attention: The ability to wear it as both watch and bracelet appeals to Indian women’s preference for versatile luxury pieces.

Bvlgari Serpenti

Heritage: Roman heritage meets Italian design mastery.

Why It Deserves Attention: The serpent motif resonates with Indian symbolism while offering contemporary luxury appeal, making it culturally relevant yet globally sophisticated.

The Path Forward: Actionable Strategies for Luxury Brands

Embrace Cultural Storytelling: Indian women respond to narratives that honor both heritage and innovation. Brands must weave their history with contemporary relevance.

Invest in Experience: Physical boutiques remain crucial. The tactile experience of trying luxury timepieces cannot be replicated digitally, especially for first-time buyers.

Celebrity Partnerships Matter: Strategic celebrity endorsements, when authentic, can drive significant awareness and aspiration among Indian consumers.

Digital-First Discovery: While purchase decisions happen in-store, discovery increasingly happens online. Brands need compelling digital narratives that drive foot traffic to authorized retailers.

Customization and Personalization: Indian luxury consumers value exclusivity. Offering personalization options—from dial colors to engraving—creates emotional connections that drive both purchase and loyalty.

The Indian women’s luxury watch market isn’t just growing—it’s evolving. Brands that recognize women as sophisticated collectors rather than occasional buyers, that understand the cultural nuances of luxury consumption in India, and that invest in authentic storytelling will capture the hearts, minds, and wallets of this influential demographic. The question isn’t whether this market will mature—it’s which brands will be bold enough to lead its transformation.

Bvlgari Polychroma: Time Told in Color, Emotion, and Mastery

In the ever-evolving world of haute horlogerie, where technical innovation often dominates the conversation, Bvlgari has always danced to a different rhythm — one that beats with boldness, beauty, and unabashed Roman flair. With its latest artistic breakthrough, Polychroma, Bvlgari reasserts its authority as the jeweler of time, blending opulent color, sculptural craftsmanship, and watchmaking mastery into one groundbreaking high-jewelry collection.

What Is Polychroma?

The name “Polychroma” comes from the Greek roots poly (meaning “many”) and chroma (meaning “colors”). But Polychroma is more than an aesthetic celebration of multicolored gemstones — it is an ethos. A creative manifesto. A multi-sensory universe where each timepiece transcends function and becomes an object of emotion, storytelling, and movement.

Polychroma is not just a collection — it is a gallery, a prism through which the maison expresses its boldest and most colorful ideas yet.

The Roman Soul of Bvlgari

Bvlgari has always drawn inspiration from Rome — the Eternal City — where ancient art, vibrant color, and architectural grandeur intersect at every corner. With Polychroma, this heritage shines brighter than ever. The collection is a tribute to Roman light, nature, history, and mythology — reimagined through a contemporary lens.

Each piece channels a distinct facet of Roman culture, whether it’s the golden glow of a Baroque basilica or the magical twilight of a firefly-lit evening. From Bernini’s sunbursts to the geometry of ancient mosaics, Bvlgari transforms historical inspiration into wearable modernity.

Five Masterpieces That Define the Collection

1. Nuvole Preziose – The Celestial Pendant Watch

This radiant piece is a visual symphony inspired by the ceiling of the Basilica Maxentius in Rome. A 6.88-carat yellow sapphire gleams at the center of the dial, surrounded by clouds crafted in yellow and white gold. These detachable elements can be worn as earrings, blurring the line between jewelry and watchmaking.

A butterfly — set on a trembler for kinetic elegance — evokes a vintage Bvlgari brooch, nodding to the maison’s rich archive. It took over 1,500 hours to complete, a stunning commitment to craftsmanship that reflects Bvlgari’s pursuit of beauty without compromise.

2. Notte Stellata Diva – The Roman Night Sky

“Notte Stellata” translates to “Starry Night,” and this poetic timepiece delivers exactly that. Inspired by the silent allure of a Roman night, its domed dial is set with moving fireflies, sculpted from yellow diamonds and blue sapphires. The watch is a celebration of both motion and mystery — a canvas of deep blues, scattered starlight, and artisanal detail.

The bracelet continues the story, flowing with a dégradé of sapphires, and finishes with a yellow diamond firefly, creating a dreamlike continuity from wrist to sky.

3. Serpenti Aeterna – The Eternal Symbol Reinvented

No Bvlgari collection is complete without the serpent — the iconic Serpenti that has come to represent transformation, femininity, and eternal renewal. The Serpenti Aeterna distills the snake into its purest, most modern form. Minimalist yet powerful, the bangle bracelet wraps the wrist with a single, sculptural twirl, set either with diamonds and emeralds or diamonds and sapphires.

This is Bvlgari’s serpent reborn: sleek, bold, and effortlessly contemporary. It speaks not of danger, but of evolution and strength.

4. Gioco di Forme e Colori – The Secret of Playful Luxury

Translating to “Game of Shapes and Colors,” this exuberant secret watch exemplifies Bvlgari’s joyful creativity. The dial is hidden beneath a detachable brooch, itself a mosaic of gemstones: a 12.34-carat tanzanite, rubellites, tsavorites, sapphires, and garnets, all arranged in dynamic shapes.

This timepiece is as sculptural as it is wearable, with a bracelet that flexes laterally — a rare technical flourish. It’s maximalism with meaning, where every gem plays a part in the kaleidoscopic narrative.

5. Tubogas e Colori – Reinventing an Icon

Bvlgari’s Tubogas — a fluid, flexible bracelet design with roots in 1940s industrial design — gets a vibrant makeover. In Tubogas e Colori, the watch is swathed in a rainbow of hardstones and gemstones: from tourmalines to turquoise, malachite to coral.

A 6.65-carat amethyst acts as a transparent dial cover, creating a liquid, dreamlike effect. This piece is a masterclass in contrasts: soft curves against sharp geometry, warm hues beside cool tones. It’s not just a watch. It’s a jewelry sculpture that tells time.

Microscopic Marvel: The Piccolissimo Movement

Beyond their visual drama, most Polychroma timepieces are powered by the Piccolissimo mechanical movement — the smallest of its kind in the world. Measuring just 12mm in diameter and weighing 1.30 grams, it is a micro-engineering feat, created to support the Maison’s commitment to miniaturized excellence without sacrificing aesthetic freedom.

Each manual-winding movement delivers a 30-hour power reserve, ticking at 21,600 vibrations per hour. This movement isn’t just an innovation — it’s liberation for Bvlgari’s designers, allowing them to explore radical shapes and structures never before possible in high jewelry watches.

A Multiverse of Luxury: Beyond Timepieces

The Polychroma collection goes beyond the wrist. Bvlgari has extended its bold vision into ultra-exclusive categories: Jewelry Bags, Eyewear, and Fragrances. These objets d’art carry the same DNA of chromatic richness, daring combinations, and obsessive craftsmanship.

Together, they create a multi-sensory experience that defines what modern luxury looks, feels, and even smells like.

A Message from the Maison

Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of LVMH Watches and Bvlgari, captures the spirit of the collection best: “Polychroma represents an extraordinary source of pride for all of us at Bvlgari. Each creation is a testament to our colorful and vibrant DNA, a celebration of the boldness that has always set Bvlgari apart. This collection not only honors our heritage but also reaffirms our commitment to excellence, constantly pushing the limits of what luxury can represent.”

Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Product Creation Executive Director, adds:“These creations are frequently inspired by our archives, preserving a strong link with our heritage while pushing the boundaries of design, gemology, and watchmaking.”

A Revolution in Luxury Time

With Polychroma, Bvlgari has done more than launch a high-jewelry collection. It has issued a declaration of artistic freedom — one rooted in color, culture, and craftsmanship.

In an industry where tradition often anchors innovation, Bvlgari dares to sail uncharted waters. Polychroma is a love letter to diversity, to metamorphosis, to color as language. It is the embodiment of luxury for the senses — watches that shimmer, whisper, and pulse with the spirit of Rome.

Because at Bvlgari, time doesn’t just pass — it glows, dances, and dazzles.

Bvlgari SERPENTI AETERNA

A daring and visionary evolution of a timeless icon.

The iconic Serpenti undergoes its boldest transformation yet: Aeterna. Modern. Avant-garde. Bvlgari’s legendary serpent, stylized to the extreme, distilled to its quintessential form. The pure, powerful geometry of an original bracelet. The dawn of a new era.

• A statement of style and modernity, inspired by the heritage of Bvlgari and Serpenti, transformed by a futuristic aesthetic.
• The pure essence of Serpenti captured – an eternal symbol of rebirth.
• A bangle joins the Serpenti collection, designed to pair seamlessly with Bvlgari jewellery.
• A sculptural masterpiece of timelessness, fluidity, elegance, and precision.

The year 2025, under the sign of the snake in the Chinese calendar, heralds a profound transformation for Serpenti. With Aeterna, Bvlgari brings the reptile back to life in exquisite high jewellery, conducive to sublime creativity. Diamonds illuminate the gold of the precious animal, whose new skin expresses more than ever the foundations of Bvlgari, its inimitable Italian style and its profoundly pioneering identity. The reinvented icon captures the rich heritage that precedes it and extends it into the future, free from fashion and time. The snake becomes a language in itself: fluid and free of the superfluous.

“Aeterna is more than a timepiece or jewellery — it is the ultimate expression of Bvlgari’s avant-garde vision. I wanted to capture Serpenti’s DNA, distil it to its essence, and project it into the future.” – Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Product Creation Executive Director, Bvlgari.

No eyes, no scales, no artifice. Only the serpent’s most elemental form remains – hypnotic and commanding. Crafted in precious gold and meticulously set with diamonds, Serpenti embraces the skin as an elegant bangle.

THE CREATIVE METAMORPHOSES OF AN ICON

Since 1948, Serpenti has continually reinvented itself, embodying the essence of perpetual rebirth. It seduces, enchants, captivates, and inspires desire. As Tubogas, supple and sensually coiled around the wrist. As Infiniti, graphic and sculptural. As Seduttori, created for everyday elegance yet capable of housing an exceptional tourbillon (2020). As Misteriosi, the precious guardian of a technical feat: the Piccolissimo BVL 100 calibre – with its extremely reduced dimensions, a record in miniaturization (2022). Now, Lady Solotempo, a fully in-house automatic calibre, beats at the heart of new interpretations of Seduttori and Tubogas, and another revelation of this milestone year 2025 – a tribute to the Serpent, reviving the rich tradition of mechanical watches for women.

Today, Aeterna pushes boundaries even further. Its design, far more than merely evoking the serpent, mirrors its very soul.

THE ART OF THE ESSENTIAL

“I like to design in a pure, contemporary style, with few decorative elements – to draw lines that speak the language of eternity. Octo Finissimo is a perfect expression of this quest for the absolute through form, which now transforms Serpenti. Only a few strokes were needed to sketch Aeterna. The serpent is distilled to its essence, its own dynamic, refined to its most powerful form… with visionary modernity.” – Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Product Creation Executive Director, Bvlgari.

In a single gesture, Aeterna embraces the wrist, highlighting it. A fluid movement. The sensuality of gold against skin. A geometric ring of light. Tapered, intense. Serpenti Aeterna doesn’t just define itself – it asserts its distinctive character in an elegantly refined bangle. Versatile by design, it effortlessly adapts to personal style and pairs seamlessly with other Bvlgari creations. This unprecedented design daringly wraps itself around the wrist thanks to an ingenious clasp mechanism. A truly exceptional piece, it demanded two years of development to achieve perfect aesthetic integration and comfort. The iconic hexagonal scales, a hallmark of past Serpenti designs, are subtly etched into the inner contour. Invisible from the outside, this sublimely crafted detail reinforces Aeterna’s intimate connection to Serpenti’s extraordinary heritage.

AN ETERNAL ELEGANCE

Bvlgari unveils Serpenti Aeterna in rose gold, adorned with diamonds, as well as a high-jewellery interpretation in fully pavé-set white gold. Precious gemstones illuminate the snow-set dial, extending along the spine to the very tip of the tail. On the white gold version, oversized gems create a striking three-dimensional effect, enhancing the object’s mesmerizing volumes.
Serpenti Aeterna is born of a single, visionary gesture. The quintessence of Serpenti, this avant- garde icon is meant to be experienced today, tomorrow, and for eternity. Time itself lingers, seemingly suspended.

BVLGARI X MB&F SERPENTI

MB&F and Bvlgari are worlds apart, and yet they share an unexpected connection that gives birth to one-of-a-kind creations that challenge horological conventions.

Founded in 1884, Bvlgari is renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, innovative designs and rich heritage, combining Italian elegance with Swiss precision – materialised in iconic collections such as Serpenti, Octo Finissimo and Bvlgari Bvlgari.

MB&F (Maximilian Büsser & Friends) has redefined traditional watchmaking since 2005 by creating three-dimensional kinetic sculptures for the wrist: Horological Machines that are brought to life through collaboration with the brand’s “Friends” and are inspired by themes as diverse as science fiction, supercars and the animal kingdom.

Bvlgari x MB&F: not their first collaboration

In 2021, sparked by a chance encounter a few years earlier between Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, director of watchmaking creation at Bvlgari, and Maximilian Büsser, founder and creative director of MB&F, the two brands released a first collaboration: the MB&F x Bvlgari LM FlyingT Allegra. This collaboration brought the exuberant, colourful world of Bvlgari jewellery into MB&F’s Legacy Machines. After the success of that collaboration, the two friends naturally wondered, what next?

For this second collaboration, Fabrizio and Max chose to reinterpret one of Bvlgari’s most famous historical creations – Serpenti, which first appeared in Bvlgari’s creations in 1948 – bringing it into the very mechanical universe of MB&F haute-horlogerie. Combining the vision and expertise of these two creative forces, the Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti slithered into being…

Reimagining Serpenti – an emblem of eternal rebirth and bold metamorphosis – into a Horological Machine required a complete redevelopment of this historical piece, not only in terms of mechanical engineering and movement conception, but also in terms of case design and manufacturing. The Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti represents a unique creation, born from an inspired encounter and a shared vision, where calibre and design seamlessly enhance one another.

An intense design process

According to Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, the design aspects “were a pleasure to create”, perhaps giving the impression that this part of the process was relatively easy – but the hundreds of sketches and dozens of 3D-printed models attest otherwise. Contrary to a classic round case, which offers only a few dimensions to experiment with, the case of the Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti could not be more complicated. Like an automobile, the view is radically different depending on whether you admire it from the front, the side, the top, the back… and all those views must be equally satisfying. Like a carefully-balanced equation with multiple variables, any adjustment to a particular angle or curve, although improving a certain view, can potentially destroy another. This resulted in countless iterations of the Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti design.

Challenging case manufacturing

Once perfected aesthetically, the design then needed to be engineered and manufactured – and this generated a number of further challenges. The Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti case is all about curves, combined together to create a machining nightmare. The complex curves extend beyond the metal of the case to the five sapphire crystals, including the snake’s eyes and the multi-facetted rear section – all treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides and providing large openings on the movement. This combination of curved metals and sapphire crystals is not only extremely difficult to machine and finish, but also incredibly challenging to make water-resistant to 30 metres.

“At MB&F we specialize in ‘kinetic sculptures which give time’ so it was definitely our calling. Nevertheless, the biomorphic design of this watch created enormous challenges in terms of the case but also the movement,” shares Maximilian Büsser. “The intricate case is entirely machined with 5-axis 3D mills and holds the five sapphire crystals which were not only extremely complicated to make but equally challenging to fit due to the curved nature of the case and the desire for a water resistance of 30 meters”.

A complex movement that breaks horological conventions

Inside the complex case, an equally complex movement that breaks all traditional watchmaking conventions, conceived and developed in-house by MB&F. From the beginning, one of Fabrizio’s central ideas was to bring Serpenti to (mechanical) life by animating its eyes; this has been materialised as revolving hour and minute domes, the left dome making a full rotation in 12 hours and the right one in 60 minutes. The paper-thin domes are machined from solid aluminium to make them as light as possible, requiring innovative milling processes. Both are adorned with hand-applied Super-LumiNova, so that when darkness falls, the luminous gaze of the snake’s eyes persists.

The mechanical reptile’s brain is symbolised by the technically challenging, oversized 14mm flying balance wheel with four traditional regulating screws, beating at the traditional rate of 2.5Hz (18,000bph). It is firmly held in place thanks to a three-dimensional balance bridge bearing the two partners’ names. Separate crowns are actuated for winding and time-setting, incorporated in the rear lugs of the Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti.

Flipping the Machine over reveals the power reserve indicator, along with some of the other 310 components of the hand-finished movement. MB&F is one of the few remaining brands to uphold artisanal manufacturing processes and to finish components by hand; an approach only possible when crafting a very limited number of watches per year (just under 400 in 2024). The watchmakers at MB&F can only craft and assemble six to eight Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti movements per month; the 99 pieces will require over a year to deliver.

Watchmaking experts who have been following MB&F will recognise some of the unconventional features of the movement. These are the result of expertise patiently developed across the more than 20 calibres created by MB&F since 2005 – in particular the manual-winding HM10 movement, although significant modifications were required to serve the sleek new Serpenti design.

Automotive touches

In addition to its obvious Serpenti origins, this unique new series reveals another source of inspiration for its two creators. Both Fabrizio and Max are car design enthusiasts and grew up with the same automotive references. Initially, there was no plan to incorporate automobile design codes into the Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti, but there is no denying the influence that has seeped into this new creation: a case that resembles sleek automotive bodywork, a complex “stepped” sapphire crystal shaped like the flaps on the rear window of a sports car, crowns that could easily be mistaken for car wheels… The apparent portion of the movement also includes car engine-like components, including a grille with the famous hexagonal scale motif seen on previous Serpenti creations.

Three Limited Editions

There are three different versions to choose from, each limited to only 33 pieces. The first comes in a grade 5 titanium case with blue hour and minute domes. The second is housed in an 18K rose gold case and features piercing green eyes, and a third version is crafted from black PVD-coated stainless steel and comes alive with vibrant red eyes.

“This piece was a pleasure to design, but technically very challenging to produce,” says Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani. “The aim was to have a totally different vision. The snake is a magnificent object that appeals to many collectors. I think we succeeded in giving the Bvlgari serpent a new horizon. It is not just a feminine object linked to the brand’s DNA but, for the first time, a technical object that speaks to the Bvlgari aesthetic and showcases MB&F’s expertise. Like all good collaborations, it is a win-win project.”

MB&F and Bvlgari have come together to create a unique and groundbreaking snake that is sure to captivate watch collectors: with its striking design and innovative mechanical engineering, the Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti invites those who have long admired this mesmerizing creature from afar to finally embrace its power.

Thin is in

And when it’s a renowned watch brand like Bvlgari everyone sits up and takes notice.

Bvlgari has consistently been breaking records since 2014 and this year to mark its 10th Anniversary of Octo Finissimo Collection the brand dropped a watch that has created quite a stir not only in the world of watchmaking but NFTs as well.

The feat to master the thinnest ever mechanical watch was no easy task and a very patient and diligent dedication finally bore results that are not only aesthetically astounding but technically tenacious too.

The watch itself was a challenge but the integrated bracelet and the newly designed folding clasp had to match the thinness of the case. It took designer Concepto three years to accomplish something of this magnitude.

The Octo Finissimo Ultra measures 1.8mm with a 40mm diameter case in sandblasted tungsten carbide. The case back of the watch also serves as its main plate and carries the movement of the watch. The PVD-coated black hands stand out as a contrast against the grey background.

The first thing that you notice though is that the ratchet is engraved with a QR code unique to each of the 10 limited timepieces that are going to be made. The code is linked to an exclusive NFT and artwork that the watch owner will receive along with the watch opening endless possibilities to such digital partnerships in future and bridging the gap between real and virtual worlds.

The other thing you wonder is how to wind this thinner than a €0.10 coin masterpiece and then you notice the two rotating knobs for winding and adjusting the time.

While there is going to be a huge scramble to own the limited 10 watches made there will only of course be those lucky few who will proudly flaunt this wonder of a watch.

The rest of us will be left flat out and wanting more.
