The atmosphere at LVMH Watch Week, Miami, on January 29, 2024, was charged with excitement as TAG Heuer showcased groundbreaking additions to its iconic collections. From the rugged outdoors to the racetrack and now to the world of lab-grown diamonds, TAG Heuer once again asserted its position as a pioneer in the luxury watch industry. Let’s delve into the remarkable highlights of the event, featuring the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph, the TAG Heuer Carrera Date Plasma Diamant d’Avant-Garde, and the latest innovation, the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph: A Journey Through Time

TAG Heuer unveiled its new Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph collection at LVMH Watch Week in Miami on January 29, 2024. Inspired by the Aquaracer series’ adventurous spirit since 1978, the collection introduces a fresh 34mm size lineup.

The 2022 Solargraph technology, initially in a 40mm carbon bezel model, expanded in 2023 with a titanium version. The 34mm size adds versatility while retaining key Aquaracer features: unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown, 200-meter water resistance, luminous markings, sapphire crystal, and a double safety clasp.

The new collection includes five dials featuring iconic Polar Blue and signature blue dials. Mother-of-pearl dials are introduced, adapting to Solargraph’s semi-transparency requirement. Luxury models with diamonds on indexes and bezels offer an elegant departure from traditional Solargraph design, capturing the sparkle of snowfall.

While maintaining historical design elements, such as ergonomic riders, the collection introduces trapezoidal shapes for both riders and indexes. The trapezoidal design, combined with diamonds, adds a refined and feminine touch.

Equipped with a solar quartz movement (Calibre TH50-01), the series provides time, date, and second-hand functionalities. The design emphasizes ergonomics, adjusting lug-to-lug distance for a compact fit. The slim profile, with a case thickness of 9.5mm, ensures comfort and style for various wrist sizes.

TAG Heuer’s Solargraph movement eliminates the need for battery changes, relying on sunlight or artificial light for recharging. A two-minute exposure powers the watch for a day, with 10 months of autonomy after 40 hours in the sun. The efficient movement, developed with Manufacture La Joux-Perret, offers a 5-year extended warranty.

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph: Racing into Elegance

TAG Heuer introduced two new Carrera Chronograph models, combining heritage and modernity in a captivating teal-green monochrome look. Inspired by the iconic DATO layout, these timepieces pay homage to TAG Heuer’s rich racing heritage while embracing a vibrant future.

The Carrera collection, dating back to 1963, evolved with the introduction of the Dato design in 1966, showcasing a date at the 9 o’clock position. The Carrera 45 Dato, with its mono subdial configuration, became a cherished collector’s piece. In 2021, a collaboration with Hodinkee led to a re-edition.

In 2023, TAG Heuer unveiled three Carrera Chronograph models, and in 2024, it introduced a green monochrome variant featuring a date at 9 o’clock. These additions continue the legacy of the Dato configuration, blending tradition and innovation.

The Carrera Chronograph masterfully combines vintage aesthetics with technical enhancements, featuring improved ergonomics, a curved flange, and a circular brushed finish on the dial. Crafted from steel, the watch includes rhodium-plated indexes, a teal green azuré mono subdial, and a domed sapphire Glassbox crystal for easy reading.

The open case back reveals TAG Heuer’s in-house movement, Heuer 02 (TH20-07), offering an 80-hour power reserve, bidirectional automatic winding, and a distinctive shield-shaped rotor. The watch comes on a high-end black alligator leather strap with a stainless-steel folding clasp.

The Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon, with a teal green circular brushed dial, features a Tourbillon cage at 6 o’clock within a glass frame. True to Carrera’s heritage, the watch retains the Glassbox design, ensuring readability from various angles. The movement, Heuer 02 (TH20-09), provides bidirectional automatic winding and comes with a five-year warranty.

Teal green becomes a defining colour for the Carrera collection, paying homage to motorsport history. This unique hue, introduced in 2021, now graces the Carrera Chronograph models in 2023 and 2024. Described as a harmonious blend of blue and green, teal green reflects TAG Heuer’s racing heritage, adding a fresh and dynamic dimension to the collection.

As the Carrera Chronographs evolve from 1963 to 2024, they symbolize TAG Heuer’s heritage, capturing the hearts of watch enthusiasts worldwide.

The controlled disorder is executed through the Chemical Vapor Deposition process, ensuring uniform colour throughout the diamond’s structure. The yellow-diamond timepiece comes in white gold with a 36mm case, featuring a diamond crown and a polycrystalline dial with 2.9 carats of lab-grown diamonds.
